“perfect hotel for an early morning flight frmo Narita”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2012

Staff are super friendly and professional. Rooms are very comfortable and clean and apart from the bathrooms fairly spacious for a tokyo hotel. The bathrooms have a bit of an odd fit out and are very tight- I dont know where the water goes when it goes in between the gaps in the bath and wall- I really didnt want to think about it actually because there was no way to clean this area properly!! Room smelt of cigarette smoke which was not good for me with a sever allergy but I dont think anyone had been smoking in our room more that it was coming in through the airconditioning which must circulate through all floors. Hotel should consider a smoking room rather than floors to alleviate this problem. Shuttle service from Aiport perfect with good train connection times. A note for the traveller planning a shopping day in tokyo and late checkin. Last trains from Central Tokyo express to Narita finish around 7-8pm at night and if you miss them you could be up for a $300 AUD cab ride to the airport. We were lucky we day tripped with family staying in Shinjuku and the staff at their hotel helped us get a cab to the last JR line train from Nippori station and 9:48pm other wise we would have been stuffed.

Just had for last day and bit of our trip to Tokyo. It’s very close to the airport but heard no aircraft noise in the rooms. No wifi in rooms. Its used by the airlines -can't be bad.
Used as a base to go into Tokyo as we had a railcard, efficient but busy on the shuttle into the airport (don’t forget your passport/ID you'll need it even if you are just going to use the trains) Restaurant foods was good (didn’t try the buffet but that looked ok) Room clean and tidy, would I stay again -Yes.

Room Tip: Had no aircraft noise at all.

We recently stayed at the Narita Tobu Hotel Airport and found it to be an excellent choice for a short layover near the Narita airport. The free hotel shuttle worked very well for both pick-up and return to the airport. The greeting was warm and the room was clean and larger than expected. The hotel, thought close to the airport, had good sound control for a good night sleep and the room amenities were more than most hotels provide. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a NRT layover and would stay again if I need to stay in Narita.

I kept to the basics, flying in late the day before and flying out early the day after. Easy free shuttle between airport and hotel, easy check-in in fluent English, nice well supplied non-smoking room with newish fittings, big TV and free Internet. Minimal noise intrusion. All this (room only) for AUD$57 booked on-line. Being tired and hungry, I ordered room service and was satisfied with the "Beef Steak Pilaff with Salad". Tasty comfort food, not cheap but convenient. Food options are otherwise limited to the expensive in-house buffet restaurants or convenience store take-out, 10-15 minutes walking distance away (map provided). Vending machines at the lift lobbies on each floor sell drink, but not food. I would bring food from the airport, next time. Despite negative sentiments expressed in a recent review, hunger got the better of me and I braved the breakfast buffet the next morning... it was quite OK. Once again, not cheap but convenient. There were lots of airline crew beginning their day at breakfast. It's that sort of hotel. There is well organised regular transport to the nearby mall, for the shopping inclined. I'll be back, with food! And a booking that includes breakfast.

I have the misfortune to have to stay in this hotel regularly through work. They rooms are small dirty stink of smoke and the de core is awful. The internet is remedial in nature 2 hours to download a 12 mg file, and the staff can offer no explanation. Air conditioning is a joke. In the middle of nowhere with a very poor bus connection. I have stayed in better short time hotels. the beds and pillows are too hard and lumpy feel like they are stuffed with straw you wont get a good nights sleep guaranteed. Stay away.

Spent a few nights here as it is right across the road from the Narita international airport. Even being so close, there is no airport noise. service is adequate for a hotel of this star rating, Breakfast was a bit disappointing, But as i only went to Narita for a plane spotting week end, it was just as easy to get breakfast at the airport.

Free transport to and from the airport and into Narita is a plus, or catch the 200 yen circle bus that runs every half hour in a loop into town and back.

Rooms are clean and quiet, if a little old , but if your only there to sleep its great. Only paid $100 (AUS) for a night.

I take my kids back home to Japan every year, and since the return flight is usually in the morning, we generally end up spending our last night at one of these Narita hotels. There are quite a few of these hotels and they are pretty much all the same – dull with zero character, but functional and comfortable enough. The restaurants are all particularly uninspiring, with flat rate buffet meals that are pretty mediocre. That is very unfortunate but I always guessed it was inevitable, since the hotels are all in the middle of nowhere; you can’t venture out yourself to find a better option, so there is no incentive on the hotel’s part to spend the money to give you a really good dining experience.

The Tobu made the grade with the rooms, but I have to say we hit new lows with the restaurant. I had business to take care of in Tokyo in the afternoon so we didn’t arrive until 20.30. We went to the restaurant only to be told that the buffet was over and we had to order a la carte from the menu. In retrospect, this was probably better, since the buffet was a whopping 4000 yen per head, but it is still pathetic – depending on where you are in Tokyo it can take up to three hours to get to this hotel, so you would really have to leave the city right after lunch to put your stuff down in the room and make the buffet. And supposing you came early and ate by 20.00; what do the hotel people expect you to do for the rest of the night? All that’s left is to hang around in the room and watch TV. Even the “convenience store” (open 24 hours everywhere in Japan) in the hotel was closed.

However, even that didn’t prepare us for the breakfast buffet, which was utterly terrible. The selection was decent enough; the problem was that the quality was abominable. My kids and I are honestly not fussy about food – how could a seven year old boy possibly be fussy? – but nearly everything in the buffet was so bad it was inedible. Scrambled eggs, sausages, Japanese staples – bread and butter basics such as these were simply awful, leaving us in awe as to how somebody could possibly make food that bad. Even the rice was bad, which is a big shock for Japan – overcooked, dry and tasteless. How difficult can it be for a Japanese to make good rice? Honestly, I don’t think I have eaten that bad in Japan, ever. Even the tea and coffee were horrible. It pains me that our last meal in Japan this time around was so awful.

I usually just go to a (Japanese language) travel site and book the cheapest offer in Narita. Next year I will spring the extra few thousand yen for a hotel where I know my kids and I will at least eat a decent meal.
