We ate here twice on our visit to Hida-Takayama. We found it a great, good value place to gorge yourself on hida wagyu beef!
One night, we shared a yakiniku hida beef bbq platter for approx Y3500. The quality and value of this was something we hadn't been able to find in a major city (Tokyo, Kyoto). We were extremely pleased with the find.
Look for the restaurant which is attached to a butchers and a giant cow encased in a glass case, on the corner of one of the main streets that goes across the river. It's situated on the Takayama station side, a few blocks back from the bridge. The English name "Maruaki" is prominent.
