“Clean accommodation close to train station”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2013 via mobile

We only had 1 night heading to the central airport early next morning so this hotel was very convenient. Easy to walk from train and staff very friendly and helpful. We had a light meal in the sky lounge with view out over Nagoya. The hotel room had good amenities. This hotel was ideal for an overnight stay. The twin room was a good size.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2013

I travelled into Nagoya on the Shinkansen (Bullet train) from Tokyo and saw the hotel sign from the window. 'Great' I thought and got off the train and headed in the right direction. When I arrived, I was stunned that I could get such a fantastic hotel for the very reasonable price that I'd paid. The receptionist couldn't find my reservation and then smiled bewnignly as she told me that 'This is the New Nagoya Grand Hotel, you want the original.' I duly trooped off to the other side of the station and eventually found the original.
Despite the disappointment, it's really not bad, if a bit hard to find. There's only a door at street level, with the reception on the sixth floor or thereabouts. I had in inner room with no view and little natural light but it was clean, warm and comfortable, with bathrobe provided.
Breakfast earned a respectable 6/10 on the Ulster Fry scale. Perhaps an extra mark for the view from the restaurant.

Room Tip: Pay a little extra and get a room with a view

Stayed here a few times now. This time tried the breakfast, very good spread and excellent stuff. The room was neat and clean. It is slightly on the pricier side compared to some other options in the vicinity.

This hotel is the most ideal location being in the heart of Nagoya City. It is located on the top floors of Meitetsu Station. Below it is a bustling commercial center. Restaurants, food stalls and supermarkets abound. You'll never go hungry. With the variety of food selections you'll go nuts especially with the cakes and pastries. Whether you are taking the taxi, bus or trains or the metro this is the most accessible hotel. The towels are so immaculately white and the hotel rooms are very clean as one would expect because the japanese are so obsessed with cleanliness. All the comforts of a modern hotel are there except for free bottled water since tap water is safe to drink. I love the sleeping gowns since it i s so comfy and made me sleep soundly. I wasnt able to watch TV since the only english channel is bbc and you have to pay to watch english channels. The breakfast comsist of very delicious japanese meal but there is a small selection for international cuisine. The shampoo , conditioner and body wash are so smooth on the hair and body which is very japanese since we know that they produce the best shampoo ever and even cosmetics! The only problem encountered is some language difficulties but this is a good reason to learn japanese! Another thing that I love about this hotel and japan for that matter is your valuables are very safe since there has been no reported theft in this hotel ever according to the manager. The Japanese are also serious about values like honesty, courtesy and integrity. This hotel gives us a slice of all these. I developed some neck soreness from having to reciprocate the courtesy bowing of hotel staff as well as its Japanese guests! Perfect Japanese hospitality!

This hotel deserves all the praise, as it is good, clean, budget hotel in prime location. It is practically within the huge Nagoya railway station complex, staff is very helpful and can provide with maps and information. It is real value for money.
Sumptuous buffet breakfast, although a bit pricy at 1600 Yen.
One suggestion to hotel is to provide a clue to arriving guests so as to which side and exit of the Nagoya railway station complex should be used to reach the hotel.

The hotel management should accept guests' registrations even before the officially announced check-in hours. Most guests are arriving in Nagoya on Shinkansen bullet trains from either Tokyo or Osaka, instead of flights. Meitetsu Grand is not a Meitetsu Inn but a Grand hotel. The facility is fine, and the restaurants are excellent.

This was a good hotel for a single night stay. Room was small but atleast was clean and things worked Bathroom was tiny but fit the purpose of shower and go.
Breakfast is very Japanese style. But bare if you expect Western. Location is within minutes from the main train station .

Other than was good. If am ever in Nagoya again for a night I would stay again.
