“Great English Tour and Exhibition”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2013

If it is convenient for you, go on Sunday afternoon at 2 pm for the roughly 90 minute English speaking tour. Our guide spoke perfect English and was very informative. They hit all of the key points of the museum and the best part is that it is included in the 500Y entry fee. This place is really a steal for 500Y and as an engineer, it is a great deeply technical exhibition. This would also be a great place to bring kids.

“Very interesting for engineering buffs and children”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2013

This museum features the growth of Toyota as a weaving machine and automobile manufacturer. They have an outstanding hands-on children's section. It was a little to engineering focused for me, but my husband loved it.

“Fascinating museum with a ton to see”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2013

We visited this museum because we originally wanted to visit the factory for a tour but it was farther away from the city center and we didn't have time to make reservations for the tour. This museum ended up being a wonderful place to visit instead! It isn't located too close to major subway stations and we weren't ready to try and navigate the city buses, so we ended up walking a bit to get to the museum. It was nice out so we didn't mind, but something to keep in kind as you plan your travel to/from the museum. Once we got there we were only one of a handful of folks there and it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. The staff members were so friendly and spoke enough English to explain many of the machines, processes and exhibits well. It was a lot of fun to see the machines working and demonstrating what they can do - we only spent about 90 minutes there before it closed but you easily spend several hours going through everything. At the end of our visit, we were a little tired from our day of sightseeing (we spent the morning at nagoya castle) and decided to take a taxi back to the hotel. We asked the ladies at the ticket desk if they could help us call for a taxi and they gladly helped (they just asked us for the 10 yen to use the pay phone, but she made the reservation for us). A great way to spend a few hours in nagoya and learn a few things too!

“Interesting museum”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 6, 2013

I wanted to visit the Toyota Automobile Museum but found out that it was far away from city center. Instead I went to the Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology. During my visit I learned more about the Toyota group and the industry. The museum was very educational and I highly recommend this place for families with children. Many machines were in working order and were very interesting. I wish there were more staffs who speak English and English speaking tours. The museum takes about 10 minutes from Nagoya station by bus.
