“lovely hotel convenient location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 10, 2013

I stayed here for a conference, and was relieved to find that English was spoken and understood by almost all staff I met. The service was excellent, with staff remembering us and greeting us by name the day after we had spoken to them. The breakfast buffet was amazing - a very complete offering of Japanese and western foods, with lots of fresh fruit and other healthy options, as well as delicious breakfast pastries. The rooms were larger than expected in a Japanese hotel - the Hilton would be considered a western hotel, I am sure, although it did have a lovely, deep Japanese style bathtub, and a toilet with all of the fancy features! The beds were hard and low, but comfortable. The location was excellent - easy walking to shopping, lots of restaurants nearby. The onsite restaurants looked, good, but I only ate breakfast there. The conference food was good, especially a delicious bento lunch. The only complaint I have is that the requested non-smoking room was not available, and the whole floor smelled smoky. For me, that means the hotel doesn't get an excellent rating.

Room Tip: higher floors have good views of the city

“One of the best hotel in Japan”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2012

I stay there from 26-28/12, on Executive Floor. All staff are very nice, service is excellent. Breakfast is no complain. Hotel parking fee is reasonable, if you don't drive, its easy to get underground, (around take 3 mins walk). Plenty of restaurant and drug store are near the hotel. For big department store, talk 1 stop of underground. JR Nagoya station they will provide the shuttle but only operate in the morning and evening....it's bit inconvenience. However, overall the hotel is excellent, no complain at all...

Room Tip: If affordable, don't miss the executive floor, nice view, nice services, nice staff

“Hilton Nagoya, excellent service and friendly atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2012 via mobile

We stayed at Hilton for two nights in the end of January. Reception was excellent and rooms were quite big and comfortable. Hotel was very clean and the breakfast was just great. Fushimi subway station is near.

“Currently Staying”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 25, 2012

We are currently staying here for our Christmas break and I booked a connecting room with a pre-paid discount which was a of a good value. Before arrival I had several emails with the customer service to verify some of the benefits as a Hilton Gold Member as the program recently had some changes. Replies were quick, however sometimes they didn't get the question (or was it my poor English ;)).

Check-in
Was friendly and everything was explained very well. Was surprised to have additional benefits as a long-stay guest (we booked 9 nights) which wasn't published on the internet. For example: 20% discount on all F&B outlets in the hotel including room service and mini-bar! Great benefit I would say.

Room(s):
We selected the deluxe rooms - renovated about 5 years ago as I was told - comfortable beds, flat screen TV's with international channels, great bathrooms. Room cleaning very efficient and done nicely. Housekeeping is also very fast - called a few times to get things and was delivered within 15 minutes!

Wifi:
Not standard - upon request they install a router, no issues here. Very fast connection.

Breakfast
Great selection - but as mentioned about others, service is slow but friendly. I guess they just don't have enough staff to serve the guests. Sometimes it takes too long to get served coffee and plates to be taking away.

General staff:
Friendly, helpful, not everyone has the same level of English. Tried to make a booking for Christmas dinner but both staff didn't understand what I wanted and they had to find a "foreign" staff to assist.

Interim Conclusion (still have some nights to go):
Great hotel, location - we used to stay in a local Japanese hotel, but the Hilton is a far better option.

“Very comfortable stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2012

The rooms are very clean with modern decor. Rooms have a flat screen TV with DVD player, work desk and comfortable arm chair with foot rest. There are tea and coffee making facilities too. I found the beds very comfortable. Rooms were quiet. As with all Hilton hotels there is a high quality of bathroom amenities, bed sheets and pillows etc.

The bathroom feels a little dated compared to the rest of the room, but it's not a big deal.

On weekends the breakfast buffet can become very busy and you may have to wait to be seated. On this particular stay we saw a large number of people waiting outside as we left. Go early, or ring the restaurant before you leave your room to check on seating.

Parking costs 1,300 yen for 24 hours.

There is a Starbucks opposite the hotel and also a convenience store. The hotel is a short walk from the Nagoya city planetarium, and a comfortable 20 minute walk to the shopping area district of Sakae.

I would stay here again.
