“Reasonable price value and city access”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 10, 2013

Interior decor: Standard ANA Crowne Plaza in Japan - very good
Exterior appearance: Tallest building in Kanayama area of Nagoya. Stylish.
Outside view from the room I stayed: South side of Nagoya city - better than average
Services: Friendly and caring staffs
Price value: Reasonable for staying in high class Nagoya hotels
Bed: Double - OK
Extra amenities: Eye masks, tea bags, aroma, bath powders - excellent

Room Tip: Higher floor on the south side

Good location, large rooms and a very comfy bed. What more do you need.

Staff were helpful in forwarding our main lugage to Tokyo when we went off to do the Kiso trail and Mt Fuji which was great and not very expensive.

very reasonably priced professional hotel with large rooms (by japanese standards) at an affordable price in a great location. I stayed only 1 night after a flight delay stranded me to wait for the morning for my next train, and had no regrets at all. Had a great night of sleep, found plenty of places for great eats/drinks, and made it to Nagoya station in 5mins. Located right next to the Museum of Art that I wish I would have had more time to explore. But certainly will stay here next time in Nagoya

4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 14, 2012 via mobile

Stayed in this hotel several times on business over the years.

The good

- Location (as everyone says) right next to Kanayama train station, so easy to commute (also easy to get to and from the airport)
- trouser press
- breakfast choice is good (although you have to pay the cost of back fast on top of the room bill - common in Japanese hotels)
- sky bar at the top of the hotel is a nice place to have a drink (as long as there are not too many of you in your group - if they are, it can be difficult to get in)
- minibar
- staff are helpful
- chef at breakfast who will make a nice omelette or fried egg for you
- air conditioning doesn't make much noise

The bad

- The wifi... But these days I carry a portable wifi adaptor that connects to the hotel Ethernet interface and allows me to connect my wifi devices - so this is no big problem.
- tv choice is limited to CNN
- no hotel pc that you can use, so you can't print your boarding pass before you depart (they used to have some pcs and printers in the lobby, but they've been removed)

Useful tip:
After you've eaten breakfast, walk to the left and you'll see an escalator that takes you down stairs near to the lobby (quicker than getting bam into the elevator).

Stayed here for one night on business trip.

Hotel is located in a good location just next to Kanayama train station. This station is one stop from Nagoya station.

Lot of shops and convenience stores around.

Rooms are big and free LAN internet access in room but no Wi-Fi access.

It is good hotel for 1 or 2 nights if you are on business trip.

Did not get much chance to explore around the area. Starbucks is right near the train station.

Overall an average stay.

Room Tip: Best to get a room not facing the train station otherwise you would keep hearing the noise of trains...

Stayed here for one night on business. It's a nice hotel with very good views. The staff attempted to speak English and I attempted to speak Japanese. Everything went fine. The rooms were large and western style. The views are higher floors were very nice. The only negative, and it wasn't that bad, was that the rugs need a refresh. Otherwise this is a clean, nice place to stay.

Stayed in Crowne Plaza hotel for one night about one week ago. A rather nicely located hotel. Only two minutes' walk from Kanayama rail station, which is one stop from Nagoya Main rail station. Other underground connection excellent. It is next to a museum and hence there is plenty of places to go to. You can also take the underground to other places in Nagoya. They gave me 20/F, which means that I enjoyed excellent views from the room. The only drawback is that being PC Platinum member, I was not given the upgrade of room service on the ground that my room reserved has been the best but it is only an executive room. Would have been better if I can be offered breakfast or some other things. But on the whole, a nice stay experience.
