“Very clean, good location, great breakfast included”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2013

The staff is (like most all Japanese people) VERY friendly, courteous, helpful, polite, etc. The room served its purpose, and we slept well because we were VERY pooped from a LONG days' travel from California. The breakfast in the morning was refreshing, and well presented and prepared.

NO complaints, other than not being able to read the thermostat or the toilet (bidet) instructions :)

Room Tip: I am sure most all of the rooms are like ours; small and for sleeping. No issues at all.

I am writing this review from my room at the Richmond. It's deadly quiet in here as the sound proofing is very effective. The room is very efficient though typically small relative to North American hotels. It's within a 5 minute brisk walk to the nearest subway station Fushimi. Fifteen minutes takes you to the social hub Sakae.Room ameneties are good. Nice duvet for bed. Bathroom is efficient though the toilet is an older electric model and is not very water-efficient. Middle of the road value.

To get there simply tale the airport express , destination Hilton hotel, and walk from there approx 200 m. To get to the station takes about 10 min. walking. Room clean, modern and small, staff helpful, some English. Breakfast good, with western dishes included.

Room Tip: Sometimes to twin rooms are bigger, then the double.

The bed felt cheap and the room was small. Service was super polite as always so I can’t give this or any other place I stayed in Japan a bad review. Still, the room left something to be desired. Fortunately we were hardly in it so no big deal. The limitations of the hotel were compounded in that it wasn’t particularly close to the station.

However, there is a really good food option nearby. I wish I remembered the name of the place but there is a little DIY grill place a block east and south of the Richmond Hotel Nagoya that served the tastiest bulgogi beef ever. It was one of the better meals of my entire trip in part because they also had a yasai (veggie) plate that complimented the beef beautifully.

In general Richmond hotel is good. Believe others have already commented that the location is less than ideal. What is frustrating for my own travel is the lack of twin/triple rooms. Since we were traveling as a family (of individuals, ie not coupled), it was frustrating that that there is a lack of twin/triple bedded rooms in Richmond Hotel, Nagoya.
I supposed it may be normal for Japanese Business hotels, as they cater mainly for single travel or maybe couple travel. But the rooms are small for 2 people even if they are a couple.
Nevertheless, the twin rooms are really very spacious if you managed to book the room (there are only 1 on each floor, and I think there are about 12-13 floors in this particular hotel).

Room Tip: I did not vote about the room because it depends if you managed to get a twin room or not (depending...

Well run, highly efficient business hotel close to Nagoya station and major attractions.

We've stayed there at the end of May 2013 in Double room, which was well equipped with some of the quietest air conditioning systems I've ever seen in my life.

Fabulous city skyline views was just another add on to this exclusive location. Highly recommended to book in advance for a good deal.

Comfortable bed, silent room (although we had fine city view), well situated (bus stop in front of the entrance, metro about 300m). Sakae arae within walking distance, and with metro+bus weekend pass (donichi eco) for 600 Yen it was easy to go everywhere. We will come back in four weeks!
