“second visit”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2013

I have stayed here once before, and my previous review said this was a nice quiet hotel. I had a different experience this visit. It seemed much more noisy. I could hear everytime a neighboring room used the bathroom facilities, and I felt as if there were people talking in the hallways constantly. Also, both my husband and I kept hearing an electrical sound (like a hotel room lock unlocking/ or a camera lense focusing) in our room. It was very creepy. The bathroom is way way too small. Barely enough room to move around. While we were there, Buffalo got several inches of snow. It would have been nice if they plowed or at the very least shoveled so I didnt have to walk through knee deep snow every time I came or went. Cleaning of the room, ok--not great, and could have been better, but not disgusting. The best part was the Starbucks inside the hotel, but they dont take your Starbucks card, and I never got a smile no matter when I went.

Thank you for all the feedback regarding your stay and we apologize it wasn't as up to par as your previous stay was. If at anytime during your stay you have a concern, please feel free to bring it to our attention so we may address. Unfortunately, the day you are speaking of, the area expereince almost 8 inches of continuos snow fall. The property and plow service did try to stay on top of but as fast as we were removing it was still falling. Have a great day.

We stayed here last month instead of our usual hotel because we got a fabulous deal on the internet. I never considered staying here because it was always too expensive. We were really happy with the stay. The rooms are very comfortable and not too small like most hotels. The staff was friendly and accomodating. We will stay here again for sure!

Really nice hotel. It was very clean and well appointed. We found it very quiet. We went for a shopping trip and it was very centrally located to a lot of the shopping. We would definitely stay again. The bed was comfortable and there was very good hook ups for all the electronics. Very good temperature controls as well

Room Tip: We asked for a quiet room on a quiet floor. We were worried as there were several buses when we ar...

I have stayed here many times. This is the first time I visited after the lobby and bar remodel. Very well done.
If you have kids, they will love the pool that spans inside and out (weather permitting). This site is very close to the University of Buffalo Amherst Campus.
Although not a luxury property, You won't be disappointed here.

As a family we have stayed here several times after Christmas in order to shop in the area.
The hotel is well organized and the staff extremely friendly.
As far as the rooms are concerned, the beds are very comfortable and they use good qaulity linens. Contrary to other posts I have read, WIFI in the rooms was complimentary and worked well.
However, I find it strange that there are no in room safes,(Canadians now need to bring passports to the U.S.) and there is no fridge or mini bar, althougth one can see where they used to be.
All in all, a pleasant stay and dining options in the area are plentifull.

Thank you for the positve feedback which we will be sharing with our staff. Yes, the guest rooms use to be outfitted with mini bars that were removed as part of the TV cabinet. The hotel does have available portable mini refrigerators that can be requested when needed. Have a great day.

The first time I stayed at this great hotel, my wife and I enjoyed a pool that started inside and carried out onto a lovely patio area. The next few times we simply enjoyed the location - so easy to get to.
And while we loved the hotel's amenities, the proximity of several great restaurants and shops - including a very decent liquor store (an admirable opportunity for visiting Canadians so accustomed to paying huge prices for wine and spirits) - was a great plus.
Marriott always delivers. This is your best bet if using the Buffalo airport and you want to add a day or two to the beginning and/or end of your journey.

We scored a room here on hotwire for $100 (after all taxes and fees). Great place for the price! The bed was super comfy, and the comforter is covered with a sheet-like cover, which made me very happy. Having worked at a hotel, I know most of those comforters are rarely ever cleaned. The bar/restaurant area was very comfortable and welcoming. We got food to-go, so we could eat in the room. Food was very, very excellent! We had vegan ravioli, a nice-sized salad, and a very good white-bean soup. While waiting I had a local beer, Flying Bison - Blizzard Bock, and watched some football. I recommend the beer as well!

My wife said the pool area looked nice, and that in warm weather the pool opened, so you could swim from the inside to outside.

For someone that always stayed at hotels that allowed dogs, this place seemed very fancy.

The only criticism I can think of is that the sofa chair wasn't very plush... but next to the super-plush bed to relax on, the chair was low-priority.
