“Just okay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2007

I spent one nite at this property on business....The room is quite tiny....no bathtub, lots of door slamming in the hallway. It appeared to be clean. Just the basics, and okay for a short stay.
Breakfast buffet mediocre...pastries and so forth looked "day old", but okay for coffee and beverages.

I will request a different property on my next trip...just wasn't loving the Sleep Inn. Another coworker was in the same hotel, and shared my opinions.

  • Liked — It was adequate for one nite.
  • Disliked — Tiny room, no bathtub, noisy thruway exit....just didn't care for it.

We spent one night at this hotel on the Labor Day Weekend. We wanted somewhere fairly reasonable in price; all we wanted to do is go shopping.

The Room: The room was very spacious, clean and bright. The bathroom sink was located in the room itself, separate from the shower, which was great. The room did not have a tub, only a stand up shower. The water pressure was great! The beds were super comfortable. Overall, the room was well kept.

Location: This hotel is located behind the Holiday Inn, kind of hard to see from the road. But it is located in a great area with supermarkets (i.e. Wegmans), fast food (McDonald's, etc), gas stations and plenty of shopping places; about 20-25 minutes from the Niagara Fashion Outlets and Wal-Mart is just a couple minutes down the street.

Extras: There was an indoor pool, very clean, although quite small. Parking was free. The inn offered a complimentary breakfast which included bagels, cream cheese/jam/peanut butter, cereal, oatmeal, fruit, coffee, donuts, hard boiled eggs and juice.

Customer service: The customer service was excellent from the front desk to the housekeeping staff. Very friendly and very helpful. Always had a smile on their face.

Overall: Not a horrible hotel. I would give it 3.5 -4 stars if rating it by hotel standards. Price was reasonable, staff was courteous, great location and great room.

I would definitely stay at this hotel again in the future. I had a very pleasant experience and the price was reasonable.

We just arrived home from a 1-day stay at the Sleep Inn to do some shopping over the Labour Day Weekend.

Hotel: Clean and well-kept. Parking was adequate, and checking in and out was a breeze. Hallways were quite nice.

Room: On the small side but quite comfortable for a short stay. We had a room with 2 double beds and it had an in-room coffee maker. The bathroom is very small with only a shower (no bathtub). The sink is outside the bathroom but it is still ok as if someone is using the bathroom, the others can use the sink. The pillows were soft and the bed was quite firm (not saggy). There is internet access in the room, should you decide to bring your laptop.

Amenities: There is a business area just off the lobby which had a computer where you can surf the internet. The breakfast area is very nice. Breakfast runs from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. everyday and was very good. There were different kinds of bagels, waffles, donuts, bread, fruits, cereals, hard-boiled eggs, juices, coffee, etc. The indoor swimming pool and and hot tub were excellent. It's the cleanest hotel pool we have ever seen. Even beats the pools in Sheraton and Marriott we've stayed at on other occasions. Deepest area in the pool is 5'.

Location: It is just off the Niagara Falls Boulevard. Boulevard Mall is the nearest shopping mall and Bob Evans is the nearest restaurant. Near Boulevard Mall are many dining choices such as the Olive Garden, Fridays, Applebees, etc.

All in all, it was a very nice stay.

Note: The lobby had a notice that in November of this year, they will be renovating the hotel, the rooms, lobby, pool area. The hotel will be upgrading the look of the rooms, beddings, etc.

  • Liked — Location and breakfast
  • Disliked — Size of the rooms.

I stayed here with my daughter for two nights for her visit at Buffalo State College. I was lucky enough to spend both nights in the hotel while she stayed one night on the couch of a dorm room. The hotel was clean and new. Our room faced I-290 but road noise was little the first night and not at all bothersome the second. Breakfast was better Friday with make your own waffles. They had the toaster variety on the far more crowded Saturday breakfast. There is an indoor pool and hot tub. The hot tub had a bubble problem that the staff attempted to correct but it really seemed more like someone added soap, because the bubbles were long lasting and in copious amounts. The location is near many eating places and shopping and very close the the I-290 entrance which will get you quickly to any of the colleges/universities in the area or Niagara Falls. I can't comment on the cost as I used points for my stay.

I stayed here after an event at the Amherst Pepsi Center. The location is convenient and the hotel is clean and has a lot of amenities for the price. At one point, I found it hard to get someone at the front desk due to light staffing (the weather wasn't ideal which may have contributed to the issue), but otherwise the experience was very good.

We just returned from spending the weekend in Amherst and stayed at the Sleep Inn. Found the rooms clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Very convient location to both Buffalo and Niagara Falls. Had breakfast at the Old Pancake House that was just a mile up the road and it was great! Had dinner at the Anchor Bar, food was excellent, but service VERY SLOW ! The Sleep Inn is in a very convient location to the Zoo, Malls and the Falls.

My family and I have stayed in this hotel 4 or 5 times when we visit Grandma and the cousins in Buffalo. Never had any trouble.

Except one Thanksgiving, where to our horror, and the amusement of our children, we discovered how thin the walls are with the couple next door, eh, giving thanks, loudly. We have since still stayed at the hotel we now affectionately call the "Moan-Inn."

Couple of quick tips. The hotel is located on a side street that dead ends into a VERY busy boulevard, turning RIGHT out of the street is no problem, going LEFT is a major headache. What we do is make a quick left turn into the parking lot of the restaurant next door, drive through the lot to where there is a traffic light and go out that way to turn left. MUCH safer.

Also, if you have a bad back, hips, bones, the beds are very hard, might want to bring something soft to sleep on. Free breakfast in the morning features donuts, bagels and things children will eat. Pool is nice, never very crowded.

Parking lot is well lit, huge mall and a bunch of other new stores within 5 minutes of the place. Turning right out of the street onto Niagara Falls Blvd will take you to Niagara Falls in about 30 mins.

Have got the place at around $75 a night around Thanksgiving and Christmas, but reserve early, ESPECIALLY AROUND BUFFALO BILLS GAMES, as this is a popular hotel for Bills fans. Go Bills.
