“Not up to the standards of other Holiday Inns”

This place was not terrible....just disappointing. Hallway was unkept & musty smelling. Bathroom was really small & had hair in the tub. Furniture was a little dated. Some carpet stains. No deal breakers here, It's just that you pay at least20 % more than other local hotels here & this place has pretty low standards

We recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Buffalo Amherst for two nights while visiting friends in the area. Check in process was smooth and quick. Our room was fine and the location convenient. Upon returning to our room the 2nd day of our stay, we were approached by a member of the housekeeping staff with an "oh, I have not cleaned your room yet". Typically, this would not be huge deal, but it was 5pm and we had been gone since 9:30 that morning. It is odd with us being gone all day the room had yet to be cleaned. We asked her to give us some time, as we were hot and tired after a busy day.
We headed to the pool around 7pm and while the area was nice and the pool was large, there were no clean towels. I went to the front desk to see if I could pick up towels and also let them know our room had not been cleaned. I was told someone was already on their way to the pool area with clean towels and she would notify housekeeping we were out of the room so it could be cleaned.
Long story short, at 9:30pm, I was back at the front desk and our room was never cleaned. I have no problem making my own bed, and picking up messes we make. The issue was that our shower curtain continued to fall to the middle of the rod, letting water out on the bathroom floor. All of our towels that were left for the first night were soaked from our showers that morning. We had picked up carry out for dinner the night before, and all of the trash was in the room. I went in search of a place to empty it myself, and had no luck.
Basic services such as clean towels should not have to be requested multiple times--they should be done automatically.
We will definitely not be returning to this hotel based on the service received. I reached out to Holiday Inn and was unimpressed by their response.
There are much better places to stay in the area--pick one of those!

The service we received from the staff was awesome, very helpful and friendly. The room was very clean, bed was comfy. Kudos to Mark from the boulevard bar and grill for the service he gave us on our breakfast. We definitely coming back to this hotel the next time we travel to buffalo.

Having read the recent reviews I was a bit nervous, We stayed 2 nights and had a really enjoyable stay. The hotel and room were very clean. The check in staff was nice and accommidating. On arrival we were unloading the car and a staff member on his way home brought us out a luggage cart. Shortly after check-in the staff called to make sure everything was ok. The pool was nice. There were no towels but the front desk brought some as soon as we notified them. As to the flying bugs we saw 2, one in our room and one in the restaurant. Which brings up the bad...the restaurant. We upgraded and got the breakfast. DO NOT eat in the restaurant. The first day one of the waiters had called in sick and they had one waiter Mark for the entire restaurant. Mark was really nice and he was trying hard but he was overwhelmed. The bus boy Stephen was a complete grouch and horrible to deal with...slamming dishes and chairs around. My eggs were practically raw and inedible. The rest of the food was mediocre at best. About 40 min into our visit a manager showed up but things didn't really improve. We watched 20+ people leave. I complained at the front desk and they refunded our money and hoped we would give them another chance. The second morning Mark was still by himself and Stephen was still grouchy. There was no manager to be seen.They were much less busy probably because Saturday was so awful.
My husband got the wrong omlet and I almost never got my bacon. The food was a bit more edible but not worth the time or the trouble. Save your money and go to Bob Evans which is right across the parking lot. This restaurant is terrible and only stays in business because it is attached to a hotel and people get the meal as part of the their stay. If you do go say Hi! to Mark as he will probably be the only person working.

The hotel staff was very friendly and the room was fine. We have stayed in much better places. Nothing special. We chose this place for the location and the advertisement that breakfast was included. The food was good but the service was awful. Not friendly and did not get our order right any of the three times we ate there. We would probably choose a different place next time.

The hotel was clean enough and the rooms are decent, but they are having a flying bug problem that will annoy you if you are staying on the first floor. I reported the problem twice, but they didn't seem to see an urgency to fix the issue. I am sure that in time these bugs will go away, but while I was there they were aggravating..

We went on a short shopping trip this past weekend and stayed at the Holiday Inn. This was our second visit to the hotel.

We were quite disappointed with this stay. The bathroom was not very clean - the bath needed a good scrub and so did the bathroom floor. The bedskirt had stains on it.

There were many very noisey guests staying for the weekend and they definitely gave no consideration to others staying in the hotel. They came in after midnight and ran up and down hollering in the hallway. Of course I can't blame the hotel for that.

For the rate we paid I was disappointed - it was actually cleaner at a cheaper motel the last time we were in Amherst.

Room Tip: ask for a room further away from the pool as there's lots of traffic going to and from with loud...
