“Classic Backpackers hangout. This place has it all.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2013 via mobile

Camped and stayed in a dorm. The staff were very helpful, cheerful and friendly. There is everything you need right there: nice large common area to hang out, Wifi (Why not free?), clean and well stocked kitchen, bar, pool, pool table, ping pong table, notice board, the works.
Great stay!

Jollyboys is a really fun backpackers - there are people from all over the world there, and plenty of different places within the backpackers to hang out. There's the bar, pool area, little couches, and the reading pit. I had a private room to myself and it was great - the bed was comfy, the linen was nice and clean, and the shared bathrooms were always clean. The water pressure was great! The bar served pretty standard food, but it was a good price. The kitchen wasn't that great - lacking in cutlery and not kept very clean, but that was probably a reflection of the guests rather than the staff. At the reception area they help you organise any activities - it was really good as I walked in with a list of things I wanted to do, and within half an hour all of it had been booked for me. I would definitely recommend Jollyboys to the budget traveler, but if you're not into backpacking then it probably isn't for you.

Room Tip: The bigger shared dorm rooms were around the reading pit - this area could get quite noisy at night...

One of the most awesome places. I stayed at the Campsite. Friendly and very helpful staff. Jollyboys is not just about accommodation...it is an experience. Great location and close to most shops and tourist attractions. I like that they provide transport to and from some of the attractions.

Jollyboys Backpackers was above and beyond what I had hoped. They have a free pickup from Livingstone Airport or from the Zambia/Zimbabwe Border if you fly into Vic Falls. The atmosphere is great! Lots of different people from all over the globe. Also plenty of room options from privates ensuite rooms, to dorms or you can bring a tent to pitch. They are very knowledgeable about activities in the area and can book them for you. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are available. Return shuttle to the airport was 25 kwatcha (about 5 USD). Highly recommended for travelers young to old!

Room Tip: Don't be afraid to use the shared accommodation, it's very nice!

Its so hipster and cool with plenty of places to relax and read if you want to relax. The rooms are grand and the food is great. Great location and really easy to organise activities through the hostel.
There is a pool and a bar and they also provide lifts too and from the main local attractions.
Great central location as well. Book early in busy seasons as it can fill up quickly.
It is pretty cheap and clean enough.

The hostel is right in town, you can easily reach supermarkets, banks, restaurants, markets on foot.
The room (we had one of the luxury ensuite rooms) was bleak but okay, but the bed was very hard and uncomfortable and tiny, there is not enough room, especially when the mosquito net is down.
Expect a lot of noise in the evenings. There is a comfortable lounge and a small pool and a restaurant, the cost for meals is okay, but food basically tastes the same every day, no matter what is on the menu. A lot of people cook for themselves, there are kitchen and fridge.
There is absolutely no individuality to this place. We ordered a meal and asked for a slight alteration, and it was impossible to even do this.
The hostel advertizes a lot of tours that you can book, but when we wanted to do so, they weren't able to put us on the tours we wanted for three days in a row, no suggestions as to what we could do instead, no help at all. That was disappointing.
They have internet access but there is only one terminal, so it gets pretty crowded.

Stayed in a 2br private with bathroom.
Positives: Relaxed backpacker vibe with plenty of community spaces to hangout or interact with other travelers. Location is decent (5-10 min walk to shopping area). On-site food is good and reasonable (we had the breakfast). Parking lot protected by guards and gate. Inexpensive compared to hotels. Bar on-site.
Negatives:
Bathroom was tiny and in bad need of update. Shower pressure was a small drip.. We ran out of shampoo/bodywash and there was none on-site, you couldn't even buy it from the shop. Staff service very inconsistent. Did not accept credit cards! We had to use a lot of our Kwachas ~300 to pay for the room, etc. when we got there even though they pre-charged our card for the deposit.. Bar/restaurant closed at 11:30 on weekends.
With some work, updates, and better service could be a great place..

Room Tip: farther from bar/parking lot quieter. Make sure windows are closed and screens not broken or bugs wi...
