“Its OK, but could be excellent”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2013

I almost feel a bit bad saying this as it is a major site in the town and deserves to be visited but don't expect too much.
The displays are as primative in style as the artefacts that they contain. There are some superb items that actually belonged to Livingstone so it is worth going to. Hopefully the more visitors that come will provide much needed funds to upgrade the place.

“Livingstone museum”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 21, 2012

This museum shares a in depth knowledge of dr livingstone life . Further it also has pre independence scriptures of Kenneth Kaunda in fight for independence . President Kaunda has personally donated his motor cycle to this museum when he used to use during pre independence days . This museum can take you in time in memorial of both Kenneth Kaunda and dr livingstone .further it has also scriptures and artefacts of first humans and life of the people in Zambia .

This place needs little boost from the tourist as most tourist when they come are least interested in history and more interested in attractions and activities in livingstone . The museum is I. The centre of town mosi ya tunya road. means smoke with thunder .

“A nice little museum with a decent story to tell”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 12, 2012

They really love their David Livingston here and this museum does a fairly decent job of describing why. There are Livingstone artifacts and a general description of the missionary who becamse appalled by the slave trade while exploring the continent and did his best to try get the word out to the world about the attrocities he saw. But this museum also surprises you with the story of ancient man, which it dawns on you, actually began right there in the local vicinity! There's also an interessting little exhibit extolling the virtues of village life, which I imagine, is experiencing the same sort of exodus of young people as American farms. Overall, though, the air inside this building was a little stuffy and as museums go, it was only so-so. Not a bad place to begin your understanding of the local history and culture, but I'd supplement this greatly with experienced Vic Falls guides who can expand on the Livingstone and cultural story, as well as the local cutlure tours available..
