“Wonderful and Relaxing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2014

We enjoyed our stay here very much. The staff are all so accomodating and kind and the food fantastic. We were able to take a sunset cruise with a knowledgeable staff member and were warned not to leave our unit as there was a hippo on the lawn in the morning. Highly recommend this excellent lodge.

After a very good self drive across Namibia we came to Waterberry Lodge to finish our holiday and see the falls ,one of the best holiday add ons we have had , the staff ,accommodation ,food and tours were really good.An elephant strolling into the garden the sounds of the hippos outside our thatched hut and the trips on the river at dusk and dawn were really good. The Sunday trip to the church service in the village on the shore of the Zambezi was very good and I am not that religious. Our own heater at the table at dinner , breakfast looking over to the river great.

This place is a gem hidden away from the main roads, and The staff will do anything possible to help you. They arranged some excellent activities for us, and whilst sitting round the fire waiting for dinner with the other guests, somebody offered to move some of the tables together, so we could continue our conversation with the other guests and share our experiences. After a perfect meal we returned to our room, and enjoyed a good nights sleep.

I have read a lot of reviews that have been criticising the distance to Livingstone, and if you don't want to have to travel back and forth, then stay somewhere else, that is your loss!

My wife and I started our 2+ weeks in Zambia at Waterberry and could not have been happier. Wonderful location on the Zambezi River. Very caring staff. Food is absolutely world class. We enjoyed our sunrise and sunset trips on the river. The full day trip to Victoria Falls was unforgettable and the village trip was very worthwhile. Room was well appointed.

The Waterberry Zambezia Lodge was absolutely lovely with beautiful grounds, a stellar staff, and delicious food. Waterberry made our trip to Livingstone and the Victoria Falls all the more memorable and enjoyable. I'm not one to return to the same place twice, but I would most definitely go back for another stay at this charming lodge on the river.

We stayed as a family group at The River Farmhouse for 2 nights and had a wonderful time. We were spoilt rotten by Nathan and the team and didn't want to leave! The team attended to all our needs and requests promptly and with no fuss, even the problem we had with the hot water was addressed in a matter of hours. A very special place indeed.

My husband, son and I stayed here for one night at the start of a self-drive safari in neighbouring Botswana and one night at the end. On each occasion, we didn't want to leave. The setting is stunning, the accommodation stylish and comfortable and the staff among the friendliest and most welcoming we've experienced anywhere in the world. They responded to emails prior to our trip promptly and with very helpful advice and couldn't do enough for us during our stay. We loved our sunset cruise on the Zambezi, complete with sundowners, and very much enjoyed exploring the neighbouring villages on foot in the company of Webby, a Waterberry employee and village resident. The lodge's commitment to its local community is admirable and we're keen to continue supporting the wonderful Tukongote Pre-School. (If you're interesting in taking resources for the children, do ask the lodge for a copy of its excellent list of suggestions before you travel. My son and I had great fun shopping for pre-school supplies.)

Thank you to all at Waterberry for a heavenly stay. We each left a piece of our heart beside the Zambezi and are determined to come back for another self-drive safari and explore all that Zambia has to offer.
