5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2012

The resort is just beautiful, right on the beach and with extremely friendly staff.

We spend the Chinese New Year's holiday at the resort and had a wonderful relaxing time. We booked a villa and were very impressed with the space, cleanliness and luxury of the room. The villa came with a very small private swimming pool as well. The resort is big enough to have all amenities like spa, swimming pools (two large ones), water sport equipment, restaurant etc. But it is also small enough to feel treated with a very personal touch (the staff will remember when you arrived, when you leave, which villa you stay etc). The attentiveness of the Hotel staff is ultimately what stood out most for us.

The restaurant for the breakfast, lunch and dinner is right on the beach, you have a beautiful view while eating. We were there in January during which time the weather was amazing. Always 30 degrees (Celsius) and blue sky. Because we were there over the Vietnamese New Year holiday, there were not many possibilities for excursions as everything was closed. Normally this is possible though. And we were just happy to relax.

The quality of the restaurant and the food is very good. The only downside I would say is that if you stay a week, then the menu becomes a bit boring. Of course you can go outside and eat elsewhere, but we did encounter a language barrier while doing that.

Overall it was a wonderful trip and we truly enjoyed the luxury of the Princess d'Annam and the hospitality of its staff. After one week we were completely relaxed.

The resort itself is very beautiful.
We were there with young kids, staff at the pool and the beach were fantastic. They are very attentive and always standby to help you with anything. Staff at the beach even liked to play with our children.

The food choice is limited with average quality but super expensive.
Be careful to check your bill; without asking they will just put a big bottle of water and will just charge it. A half of bottle was always left and they just took it. In Vietnam, tap water is not drinkable, therefore nearly every restaurants serve free" ice-water" that is from a drinking water tank(big bottle). If a high end restaurant, they will push you to order mineral water but you still can ask " ice-water", which is free and same quality as you order a bottled water.

Management response
General Manager of Princess D’Annam Resort & Spa respond to this review:

Dear santenpark,
We are delighted that overall you enjoyed your stay at Princess D’Annam, I have shared your nice comments with our staff.
Since you came last year February, the menus have been enlarged and updated several times. We are receiving many compliments about the quality of the food but I am taking note of your comment.
In relation to the water charge, there must have been some confusion as we are certainly not trying to maximize mineral water sale in our restaurants, I apologize for the inconvenience and not having proposed you a smaller water bottle.
We look forward to be welcoming you back in future,
Best regards, Jean-Philippe Beghin

This is one of the most beautiful resorts in which we have ever had the pleasure of staying. It is set on a gorgeous private beach with nothing except a little fishing village a few hundred yards away. There are four lovely pools scattered around the immaculate gardens into which the villas are set, including a huge infinity edge pool just steps from the beach. The villas themselves are supremely comfortable and spacious, and the large spa has rooms and treatments for everyone. The staff is welcoming and ready to help in any possible way.

The breakfast was outstanding in quality and variety, and the rest of the food and beverage was just as great. There are a number of excursions available, but we liked the place so much we limited ours to walks on the beach and a bike ride in the nearby countryside.

We stayed at Princess d'Annam on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day 2011. If we have to describe Princess d'Annam in 2 words it would be Luxurious Getaway.
It is a world class resort with spacious villas and their own private pool surrounded by beautiful gardens. Common area includes one large infinity pool overlooking the pristine beach, one quiet pool and jacuzzi, ocean-view massage parlor, fitness room, bar, game/big screen theater room, conference room. Service is first-class by a friendly English-speaking staff.
At the resort restaurant, Vietnamese fusion cuisine best described dishes prepared by Chef Phat. Special thanks to Chef Phat, Nicole and her staff at the restaurant for making our dining experience a memorable one.
For authentic Vietnamese dishes, a short walk on the beach to the left of the resort, takes you to a local restaurant serving fresh seafood from the catch of the day.
A half-day excursion to the 19th-century lighthouse can be arranged with transportation by a "basket" boat (commonly used by Vietnamese fishermen) from shore to a small boat that will take you to the lighthouse where the beauty of the coastal area can be viewed from the top.
Must see: Local fishing village at sunrise and visit to the lighthouse next to the resort, Sand Dunes in nearby Mui Ne and the 49m long Buddha statue at Ta Cu mountain.
Because of its secluded location, one must endure a 4-hour drive from Tan Son Nhat airport in order to get to the Princess d'Annam resort. But you will be rewarded with daily natural events that are rarely happened at the same location: beautiful sunrise and sunset!

Staff was extremely helpful and friendly! Beautiful view and beach. Would stay again. Only drawback is the five hour drive from Saigon to the resort.

This hotel, despite being three hours from the airport at Ho Chi Minh was worth the drive, it is located on a beautiful stretch of the coast and just exudes peace and tranquility. The facilities are excellent especially the Spa. The food is great although little choice at lunchtimes but the dining in the evening is top class. Rooms and space and friendliness make for a superb stay in a busy Vietnam / Cambodia schedule. Well worth considering if you want a beach stop off whilst vsiiting the main cities of South East Asia.

Just spent my honemoon there. Warmly welcome, proffessional service, superb cuisine, beyond our expectation. Enjoying your meal in the restaurant by the sea is so romantic. When we were out for diner, the hot tub was prepared with flowers and candles. what a suprise. And, a bottle of champagne for the first day, and 2 glasses for the last day, all for free. The only concern was, we only spent 2 nights there. And we will back for more.. You can see it all at our honeymoon album: http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.2725189689661.262856.1254700062&type=1. thanks

Room Tip: Chose the Princess Villa, worth every $ you spend. It's quiet, and not too far from the the rest...
