We rode out to the temples with the Fat Tire Ventures guys from Hoi An. We arrived at about mid morning and stopped first for a bite to eat at the large exhibition hall. The new displays give a great insight into the history of the area and of the Champa kingdom in general.
Our guide was fairly knowledgeable and that really helped us to understand the significance of the architecture and symbols etc. Although, if you like old stuff you'll more than likely enjoy wandering by yourself too.
The complex is fairly big and takes about an hour and a half to visit all the sites. They've converted some of the temples into museums where there are small collections of sculptures as well. There's also a lot of restoration work happening, which is great to see. It's just a shame that there's so much that needs fixing! .....stupid yanks....
