“Interesting visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2013

Went on a morning tour- half day (went there by bus and opted for the return by boat). Very interesting and educational, our tour guide was very informative and gave great commentary on the site and its history, especially during the American/Vietnam war.

Booked via our hotel in Hoi An as opposed to booking in Australia via travel agent and paid 1/10th of the price.

The artwork and figures is so beautiful.
I like it.
My friends like it, too.
I want to come back with my new friend soon.

“Wouldn't bother unless of particular interest”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2013

It's quite a way from anything and I don't think really worth the drive unless it's of specific interest. The site is quite nice but just has some small ruins, very hot and full of other tourists. They also do a short 'cultural show' but it all felt a bit tacky.

“very interesting - go early”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2013

The ruins at My Son are located in a beautiful spot away from town. We had a guide recommended by our hotel in Hoi An and he asked that we leave early (7:30am) to avoid the crowds. We were glad he did that because it took about an hour to get there and by 10:00 am it was getting crowded. I would recommend hiring a guide for this because there is a lot to learn here. A shame to see some were destroyed by bombs during the war.

“lovely, quiet place on the right day!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2013

I had an amazing visit. It was a hot day and there were hardly any tourists, maybe three small groups. Overheard a guide saying he'd never before snapped a photo with no other people in it.
