“Great Stay !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2013

My wife and I, and our 17 year old daughter, stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment in late March for 5 nights. The room had 2 en-suite bedrooms, both with their own TV, and a lounge/dining/kitchen area with TV and DVD player, Free WiFi was available throughout the room, and by the pools. The location was great, the weather was mostly very sunny and the beach -with powder-soft sand- stretched for miles. Although we stayed over the Easter weekend the hotel did not appear overly full, and most days when we were by the pool (there is one near the apartment buildings) it was barely used by anyone else.
The staff are very friendly, and overall I found the service to be excellent. Breakfast was fantastic, with a great selection of food, including made-to-order eggs, waffles, and French Toast. Even after 5 days we were not bored by the selection. In the evenings we mostly ate at the main restaurant (which also serves breakfast) and found a very good selection of reasonably priced Vietnamese and Western dishes. The only disappointment was when we 'signed up' for the Italian Buffet on the Saturday evening, which was priced at c. US$ 35- per head and although this admittedly included half a bottle of wine per person, the selection of Italian food was very disappointing and, if you were teetotal you would be quite let down. We also popped into the 'Ladies Night' that same evening but found the place deserted and the supposedly free drinks not quite as free as we had thought as you had to buy one first after which the next ones, for the ladies at least, were free !
We took the shuttle bus one morning to Hoi An, but beware that it has limited spaces and although we were near the front of the queue, we saw several other people unable to get on, and they had to take taxis instead.
The hotel is spread out over a large area and there are a number of facilities including a well-stocked Deli, kids club, a climbing wall, great looking tennis courts, and beach facilities like surf-boards etc.
Overall we highly recommend this hotel, and would definitely return- unfortunately the airline that is currently flying non-stop from KL is canceling it's route from June ! :(

We booked a Regency Club Room. Lovely view right on the beach, second floor so nice and private.

Staff very welcoming and friendly, good English skills.

There is no table or desk in the room, very limited bench space to put your things. Nice bathroom overlooking the beach.

You get a welcoming letter on check in which informs you that you get a free Continental Breakfast in Regency Club but have to pay $10 per person to use the Buffet Restaurant - very poor, no mention of this on the website.

Regency Club is like a children's crèche, not only at breakfast time but also in the evenings during cocktails and canapés. Kids running around screaming and shouting, a nightmare.

We stayed 3 nights. On the last afternoon we had to request someone service our room at 4.30pm. On returning to our room later, discovered they had made the bed with extremely damp bottom sheet and Doona. Stripped the bed and slept with a gown over me.

Grounds are nice, shuttle service to Hoi An and Da Nang is good.

They offered to provide transport from the airport for $US46.20 one way. We declined and took a cab for $15.

We would not return.

Before booking you next holiday, make sure you do your homework!! As I read the negative reviews of the resort. Ask yourself "What type of holiday do you really want?"
We stayed here for 8nights in March. We stayed in a "Club Room" which included your own reception staff to deal with. Continental Breakfast and evening canapés and drinks. The rooms had everything you could ask for and if anything was missing, it was only a phone call away.
Whilst we were here we celebrated a wedding anniversary and birthday which the staff were kind enough to arrange a birthday cake and received a small gift from the day spa.
The spa was very professional and relaxing, worth a visit or two.
We had a fantastic time, it was the exact holiday we were looking for. To do nothing but swim, lay by the pool and enjoy beautiful food and wine. The prices were great for a 5 star resort.
Yes, the resort wasn't traditional but once again do your homework..the grounds were beautiful and yes the plants are still growing, but the resort was always clean and tidy.
Some of the staff did struggle with their English - but we are in their country, why don't we learn to communicate with them??
If I could give one suggestion - the management team/head chef need to get out and start talking to their guest, rather then dining each and everyday in front of you.
I would highly recommend this resort to anyone who is looking for a quite relaxing holiday.

Room Tip: Club rooms are worth the extra $$.

A very new resort in the beach area of DaNang. This is not Viet Nam, this is a spectacular beach resort that happens to be in Viet Nam. Every luxury and curtesy. The staff are charming and genuinely sweet and friendly - and I have stayed at resorts all over SEAsia and I know the difference between insincere and genuine friendliness. This is a new resort and some of the details are not worked out but the staff make every effort to make your stay perfect. The resort is modern clean and sleek, not fussy or traditional. If you want to relax at the beach with exceptional facilities, wonderful staff, where your privacy is respected, this is the place. It isn't cheap, but it is a bargain for this level of resort.

The beach is spectacular here. Really a world class experience with powder white, clean sand, wide beaches that stretch for miles. You can walk all day or you can plop in a chair and hav e the staff bring you cocktails. Beach wise, there isn't much better.

Architecturally it is a little minimalist and drab. I certainly doesn't evoke Vietnamese culture as you see elsewhere in the country. But there are nice touches - expansive views of beach and mountains, interesting details, and fabulous huge stone furnishings. I think the minimalism is partly due to the fact that the plantings are not yet mature, so the overall effect is more sparse than the resort will look in 5 or so years.

Lots of food options with very high quality menus - again, it isn't cheap, but don't come here if you are looking for cheap.

My kind of place but not for everyone.

Room Tip: The ocean view is worth the upgrade. Huge balconies and spectacular beach views.

During one of the business trip I had some days free and I went to Hyatt Residence Danang. The place is outside Danang on Riviera , on an areawith a lot of others resorts. Basically there are two area : the hotel itself and the two residences. I stayed in Residence 4 in a nice full equipped 1 bed apartment , with a nice view to the ocean , full equipped kitchen, The resort is brand new and the facilities are very good. But that's it. Your experience with the staff will be a nightmare. They are so tense , so stress , so un-friendly I have ver seen in the whole world.Starting from the reception up to the last waiter they all look at you like tha THEY are making you a favor by allowing you to stay in the hotel!! If you are reading my other review you will see that I am really not asking to much in order to be happy in a hotel. But this guys realy killed me :). Just to give you an example : I have order a beer and a cofee on pool bar. I was inside the pool when the order came and I was really forced to get out of water , all wet in order to sign the bill. The lady told me she cannot leave without signed bill. And she was really scared! Another thing: I forgot a jacket in Hilton Hanoi. Only two fast emails and they sent me the jacket via post to Hyatt Danang. And the stupid person in reception forgot where it was. I had to make several calls , to Hanoi , to post office , etc even there was a confirmation that they have reveived...ok , I dont want to be borring..I think you get it by now. Bottom line , you may miss a nice vacation with this horrible staff. Otherwise the place is really fantastic.

Room Tip: Don't take the room in residences A or B.

We went there as a family of 6 (2 adults and 4 kids in between 10 y.o. and 5 y.o.) and we rented a 3 bedroom apartment. Good service overall - restaurant, pool service, room service...
Nice location close to the beach - can choose to swim in the pools or to enjoy the sea (potentially the big waves).
Well located to be able to reach easily the marble mountains (15 minutes walking distance), My Son (half a day trip) and Hoi An (30 minutes by taxi).
The little downside was the lack of initiative that the employees from the Hyatt kids' center demonstrated...a pity as they have a fantastic facility.
Overall, still very god we highly recommend.

Our suite was very spacious with a living room and a dining table. The contemporary design makes you feel like home. The room has spectacular ocean view. It was so relaxing to sit down at the balcony to have a cup of coffee.
The hotel is definitely kids friendly. Large pool area and they have kid activities like beach football, wall climbing, boxing..etc. They even have sand toys and surf board prepared for kids. We sent them to the Camp Hyatt for a half day activity while we could enjoy our spa. The massage was good and really helped to release my body ache.
We had our breakfast at the Club lounge, it was continental breakfast but they had one or two hot items like eggs or a small bowl of Vietnamese beef noodle that you could order. The beef noodles were really yummy!
Overall the staffs were friendly and helpful. Their English might not be very fluent however they had the smiling faces that could overcome the language barrier.
My kids commended it was the best vacation they ever had.
