“Near My Khe Beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2012

The Pearl Sea is a nice newer hotel a couple blocks from My Khe beach. My room was large with a comfortable bed with a view of the beach. The WIFI signal is strong and the TV has HBO. The bathroom was large and modern with a full sized tub and good towels. The included breakfast was kind of sucky. There was no butter or jam for the baguette that went along with two hard fried eggs. They do serve a large bowl of soup. The staff spoke very little English which is not surprising since they cater more to Vietnamese tourists. Still I got what I needed.

Unfortunately I woudn't recommend staying at Pearl Sea. The Hotel is OK with very spacious rooms. The room appeared clean enough, although the bathroom could have done with a little more attention and the bin hadn't been emptied from the previous guests. We had major communication issues on check in as the staff's English is little to none. Even handing over our passports provided little assistance! The were unable to tell us our room number, instead handing over the key with it written on, not able to recommend anywhere for us to eat or able to book us a taxi. To arrange a transfer to the airport the following morning was not even worth contemplating! We did receive a surprise wake-up call the following morning which we hadn't ordered but was most appreciated. In our email correspondence, we had made mention of an early departure which they must have taken note of. In that regard though, the communication regarding our reservation was so poor that we weren't even sure whether or not we had a reservation despite numerous phone calls and emails. Unfortunately the Hotel's location is right in the middle of nowhere and even if the staff were able to better communicate, it would still be rated average at best. Despite being a decent place to drop our bags and rest our heads for the 8 hours that we were there, I wouldn't recommend it. Danang isn't the most exciting place to visit to begin with but if you need to be there, definitely try to find somewhere a little more central!

We booked here after looking online, there is not much to do in danang anyway but the location of this hotel is horrible, just smack bang in the middle of nowhere, nothing at the beach to see, staff are unhelpful and although the hotel promotes itself as a great place for tourists, they know very little English and can't answer any questions about tours, where to go etc. Bed sheets were dirty and when we arrived the guy told us bfast is from 7-8am, only 1 hr, hotel was cheap that's about all, not much to do in danang so I would avoid all together and stay in hoi an.
