“Stunning experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2013

Exquisite architecture & decoration on the outside but even more so once you get inside. A photographers heaven!! We arrived just before the midday ceremony and this was a very moving experience. Having the Buddhist, Confucianism & Taoist combination of religious philosophy was a first for us. The long drive through the countryside was well worth it. It was also fantastic to see the smaller, but almost as elaborate, temples in the smaller towns on the way. Definitely worth visiting!

“Nice place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2013

Not far from Saigon (but it takes ages to get there, because of the poor standard of roads and drivers), the trip includes Cao Dai temple and Cu Chi tunnels: not bad. Cao Dai is a religious movement woth a mix of confucianism, taoism, buddhism and catholicism. Naive, interesting...

“Beautiful temple”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2013

Such a beautiful temple, first one we saw while in Vietnam, well worth it in my eyes. So colourful and bright. There were monks in the temple doing their worship, which we got to watch, such a cool experience.

“Mesmerizing Temple”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2013

In August this year, while in Vietnam, I joined a local tour to the Cao Dai Temple in Tay Ninh. The Tour Company was : Hong Ngoc Ha ( Kim Tours ). We had an English speaking guide ( Mike ).
A full day tour from 08.30 to 18.00 was only US $ 12 / pax. This includes The Cu Chi Tunnel, A Handicraft Factory and The Cao Dai Temple.

We proceeded to the Cao Dai Temple after visiting the Cu Chi Tunnel and the Handicraft Factory. This temple is about 96 km from HCMC. On arrival, I was mesmerized by the vibrant colour schemes of the temple. The well kept grounds of the temple will also attract your attention ! Immaculately swept !

As I entered the temple, I gazed in awe at the vaulted ceiling with its vibrant, gaudy colours. The walls are yellow in colour and the pillars had colourful dragons coiled round them. Infront of the majestic hall is The Divine Eye. This single Eye though appears to stare at the worshipers in the congregation gives them divine protection ! ( Should Be )

I watched the whole worship procedure in silence from the balcony above. All tourists had to go to the balcony. The whole process is fascinating. As the hymns start, in strolls the priests in bright red, followed by yellow and blue robes. They lead the worshippers who were all dressed
in white. Methodically they take their places in the hall. They all sit in perfect silence on the beautiful tiled floor, occasionally bowing their heads to the chanting.

In Vietnam, this is another must visit attraction, not to be missed. I was lucky to enter the temple when the worshipping service was on. Do include this destination in your itinerary . You'll be fascinated by this extraordinary temple ! You won't be disappointed !

“Mystic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2013

Located outside of Saigon on the way to the tunnels of Cu Chi, this temple is an amazing site. The grounds are beautifully groomed and manicured with splendid trees and many varied and colorful flowers. This temple is a blend of many different religions, about 6 or 7 if I remember correctly. Happened to be there long enough to witness a actual service processional. The many different and colorful robes was quite stunning to watch. Did not fully understand the rituals but did realize that the culture was both mystic and religious in nature. The temple itself was also a blend of many cultures...Moslem, Buddism, Taoism, Hindu and perhaps others. Very interesting and worth a visit.
