We went to Hoi An after staying for four days on Phu Quoc island at Freedomland, which had been fantastic. So we had come from a little paradise and it was hard to impress us.
But at Betel they certainly did impress us. We were personally welcomed by the manager John with welcome drinks and flowers (it was our honeymoon). and they had specially prepared the bed in our room with flower petals.
The place itself is a little outside the centre of Hoi An, which was nice because it was quiet and peaceful. There were bikes available included in the room rate, and it was a 5min ride into town (15 min walk) and 15 min ride to the beach.
Breakfast was super tasty, I had Pho once and also the banana fried pancake.
Unfortunately we couldn't extend our stay, but John recommended a nice hotel (Phu Thin 2).
As a bonus of trustworthiness: I accidentally overpaid our bill and John called us in our new hotel to let me know. He then hopped on a motorcycle and returned the change.
I would wholeheartedly recommend the Betel to anyone going to Hoi An.
