“Depends on your standard!!Pool pics are misleading!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2013 via mobile

Good Things:
Nice clean room
Nice river view
Sheets/towels changed daily

Bad things:
Hotel is definitely far from town to walk. And I've no problem walking,in fact I enjoy it!!
The gym is actually 3 pieces of equipment in the bar,not really a gym.
There's builders all day overlooking the pool (see pics I've attached) with only room for about 4 sun loungers.
Irregular shuttle bus hours into centre finish 7pm so taxi can cost between US$2-US$5 depending on if you use the service the hotel call for you(higher rate!)
I'd be disappointed if I booked this as a two week holiday, but it's fine for those on a budget looking for somewhere mediocre!!. If I was going again, I'd stay closer to centre as we are travelling Asia and want to see sights. If you want to stay away from centre, and maybe pop in once or twice this place would do!!!

We booked 3 nights through a Han Noi tour.agent on a personalised tour. I looked at some review on tripadvisor before hand and most were very positive. The photos of the hotel looked good
.
The staff were very friendly, the location looked pleasant, our room overlooked the rice fields, and there was minimal noise from the street. The room was clean and nicely decorated however the latex beds were hard and uncomfortable and our pillows were terrible. The bathroom was dated, the shower base leaked, the shelf for soap was broken and had not been replaced and you needed to wear your thongs in the shower as the pebble base hurt our feet.

Breakfast was very limited compared to other hotels we had stayed at in Vietnam and they didn't bother to inform us that we could have freshly cooked eggs if we wanted it as an alternative.

The pool was small but lovely and refreshing when we got back hot and tired from an all day tour, however we had to use our bath towels as there were no towels proved.

The shuttle bus was fine to town however we used taxis most of the time as the bus was infrequent.

The hotel is reasonably cheap but a bit too far from town. Would book something closer if we ever come back so we have the option to walk back from town instead of having to wait around for the shuttle..

Stayed here with my girlfriend for three nights, and we wished we could stay longer. The views around the hotel are beautiful, and it is perfectly located between beach and town. They offer free bikes, beach towels, a shuttle, and an awesome breakfast. Very kind and polite staff.

We stayed in a room with a rice field view. The room was nicely furnished, clean and well kept. The location was ok, a little outside the town, but there was a shuttle bus and free bikes available. Wifi was good and staff were friendly. The pool was small and gym equipment a bit jaded, but it worked. We used the massage service a couple of times, quite good and very cheap. The view from the breakfast room was great although the food choice was limited. In summary a very good hotel and we would use it again.

Firstly, this hotel is closer to the beach than the town, but there is a free shuttle bus a few times a day in and out of Hoi An centre, and there are plenty of bicycles for guests to use for free whenever they want, so not really a problem.
On the up side of this - from the rooftop restaurant (where the free buffet breakfast was served) there are views over paddy fields and the rivers to the town and the ocean.

We paid $35 on agoda for a room and got room 505 when we arrived which I think was an upgrade as agoda said we'd be on the lower floor. So that's nice. For the money we paid we were really happy - the room was clean and tidy and had a nice bathroom, and all normal hotel extras, and a little balcony with lovely views.
The TV and internet worked perfectly, the pool was small but nice and the dining area is lovely. Buffet breakfast has plenty of choice and average quality.

May have been pushing it to say the hotel is value for money at the published prices on their website ($60+) but at the lower price it was great, would definitely go again.

The staff here are delightfully friendly, but maybe don't book stuff through them, we booked out bus to Hue and they didn't really know what they were booking for us - it was OK in the end but a little confusing!

Room Tip: Rooms higher up do have better views obviously, and the views are beautiful so possibly worth paying...

We had a river view room that was very comfortable, beds were excellent, bathroom had everything we needed, free buffet breakfast on top floor was very good, lots of choices, great pastries and front desk personnel were very helpful, spoke fluid english. Used the shuttle once as taxis were easy to get and very inexpensive. Pool was small but very welcome after the heat in Hoi An. Beach is 1 km away, we used taxis to get there too.

Phuoc An River Hotel offers an ideal location, with excellent surrounding views.
Having read numerous previous reviews of this hotel, I can only concur on the more positive comments, and am very happy to add my own personal seal of approval to this fine hotel. Its very friendly staff and management, and excellent facilities, are perfect for the discerning traveller who seeks above average attention to detail. I look forward to returning at some future time.

Room Tip: Lovely views all round from hotel - choose road side room for river view
