We stayed here for two nights and wished we'd stayed longer. It's everything you'd expect of 5* and more. We had a beach side villia. The room was modern and luxurious. It had a mini bar with complementary alcohol and soft drinks. There was an outside shower area and beautiful terrace over the beach. The pools are enormous and also beautiful.
Special mention to breakfast - quite possibly the best ever! Everything from smoked salmon and champaign cocktails to endless piles of freshly cooked waffles and cooked breakfast. Most importantly - the best brew in Vietnam.
We ate at the Vietnamese restaurant one night. Expensive but good food in a beautiful setting. The other night we went into hoi an which is well worth doing as it's a very pretty town with lots of shops and restaurants to explore.
If we ever come back to Vietnam we will certainly stop off here.

Typhoon NARI had visited this resort just 9 days before our arrival and pounded the resort with 130km/hr winds for hours. We were very concerned for the staff and for the resort. We were assured by email that the resort was ready for us. The drive to the hotel revealed the true nature of the destruction from NARI. We arrived and were greeted by several of the staff including the general manager. While you could see that the resort had been heavily damaged they brought in over 400 workers to restore the resort. Everything in and around our fabulous 6,000 sf, 3 br villa was perfect. Only the roof had not been repaired and that issue posed no problem. Great job, Nam Hai.
Our stay here was magical. Everywhere you turn there is the ocean or a pool or a fountain a waterfall, lush greenery, etc. Etc. Our villa came with a Butler and Hung, his name, was at our side at any time that we needed anything. We found out that he was awaiting the arrival of his first child within just a few days. (We found out later that he had a healthy little girl.)
The food at the restaurant was excellent but because of the loss of some of the buildings on site from the typhoon the service was very slow. If we would ever return to the area, thd Nam Hai would be our first stop.

My wife and I stayed here for five nights in September 2013. Everything you read about the helpfulness and attentiveness of the staff we can readily endorse - they were excellent. There are some attractive features too in the design, especially the location of the two restaurants. Sadly however we totally disliked the bungalow in which we stayed. It was the standard design and we found it dark, and even dangerous being set on three levels with steps/stairs ever ready to trip you up or stub your toes. The bed was elevated on a high platform -(why???) - so visiting the loo in the middle of the night was risky requiring descent in two stages. The hot water supply was appalling. It took three minutes - timed! - to reach the bungalow. The food in the restaurants is grossly overpriced. A two course meat for two with one beer and two glasses of house white came to £125 sterling...
Thank goodness for the lovely helpful staff!

We appreciate you taking the time to post a review and share your experience about your stay at The Nam Hai. We admit, the design of the villas is unique and the layout may not suit everyone’s taste in terms of comfort and ergonomics - we have empathy for your point of view.

As for the prices of food & beverage offerings, we concur with you that they may appear high (in comparison with free standing restaurants in Hoi An), yet we procure only high quality ingredients, pay our English speaking staff competitively, comply with international standards of hygiene and offer dining experiences comparable to first class hotels or restaurants elsewhere in the world, all of which our discerning guests expect from a GHM property.

Once again, thank you very much for your recent stay and for acknowledging the helpfulness and attentiveness of our staff. We will pass on your compliments and are sure our team will be happy to learn about your compliments. Walter Hess, Resident Manager.

We stayed 4 nights in November 2013.
Staff: Exceptional. We noted that staff outnumbered guests by almost 2:1 during our staff
Accommodation: Excellent. Cannot be faulted. Luxurious. Everything thought of.
Restaurants: Generally good. Excellent views. Excellent service. Albeit a little over-priced. The buffet breakfast is one of the best i've ever had.
Activities: Many tours and activities available. Mostly overpriced considering vietnam standards, but everything is taken care of.
Location; A little out of town, but semi-regular shuttle available into Hoi An. Next to beach.

Room Tip: Even the base rooms are excellent.

Stayed for two nights with three couples in a beach front villa. We each had our own villa suite which was beautifully designed in understated but dramatic details ... Raised block for bed, bath tub quadrant in the same block, long white curtains against dark wood. And a great outdoor shower!

The main villa is beautifully designed as well. Many seating areas, complimentary drinks in a fridge, butler. Our only critique is that our main villa didn't have a toilet area, so guests were obliged to go back to their villa which was a bit of a bore.

The pool, was lovely with thought given to those who swim, sit or stand... Spotlessly clean.

Design details astound all around the resort ... It is worth watching the video from the architect who designed the resort to really appreciate the architecture.

Breakfast buffet / a la carte are offered and is one of the best breakfasts I have ever seen. Staff are gorgeous. Also the most stylish gift shop I have seen, elegantly and tastefully curated.

I left feeling we had not been there long enough, so I hope to return with friends and family again.

Room Tip: There are many rooms but try to either get a beach villa or a pool villa with a butler. The best vil...

I stayed at the Nam Hai a while back and it was an absolute treat! The setting was stunning and the bungalows were pure luxury (I really liked the artwork in the resort as well - check out the library!). The staff were amazing - always very helpful and friendly with a great eye for detail. The resort seems ideal for honeymooners and families, even more so as Hoi An is such a hospitable and romantic place.

We booked a trip to Hue with the hotel and it was a great way to travel to surrounding sites - an ipad was provided in the car to read up on the history of Hue on the way. We stopped at panoramic views and the driver was an absolute hero, providing me with cooled towels and water after getting a little travel sick. Only minus was the guide they sent along as we actually learnt more from a single paragraph in our guide book than from a full day spent with him.

Definitely a great place to relax, enjoy good food and a pick up some culture as well. Ideal combination for a perfect holiday!

This resort is truly amazing. We stayed here for 6 nights and were treated with excellent service and luxury. We booked a one bedroom pool villa however were upgraded to a 2 bedroom villa. The Villa pool is 15 metres which is perfect for lazing around in. The main pool area has both a 45m lap pool and 50m pool.

Our butler Phuc made sure that we were comfortable at all times, and always offered us a drink upon return to the villa. The mini bar was complimentary as too was Gin, Vodka and Whiskey all of which was replenished promptly. Phuc would be at the Villa from approximately 9am through to 7pm, her excellent service has made this a memorable trip!!

The buffet breakfast is outstanding, eggs are made to order as too which a number of local Vietnamese dishes. The staff quickly become familiar with what you like to drink and remember how you have your coffee.

During our stay it was my birthday, the resort organised flowers and cake for me and made me feel special throughout the day. All the staff wished me happy birthday at breakfast. Very nice touch!

Overall this would be the best resort we have stayed at, and we have stayed at number of high end resorts.

I could not recommend this resort enough!

Thank you for choosing The Nam Hai as your address of choice to celebrate your birthday. We enjoyed reading that Butler Phuc looked well after you and was able to render your stay unforgettable. We were also glad to learn that you took a liking to our marvelous breakfast buffet and appreciated our staff remembering your preferred morning beverage. Once again, thank you for recent visit and we are looking forward to welcoming you back soon. Walter Hess, Resident Manager.
