“Amazing honeymoon experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 4, 2012 via mobile

My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon in December. We were upgraded to a three bedroom ocean view pool villa and found the experience amazing. All the staff were fantastic and very friendly, the free transports to and from Hoi An were very useful, the breakfast is delicious and the building works going on that a few people have mentioned did not affect us at all. Our private butler Trang did a great job and was always at hand to arrange anything we wanted, book restaurants and make us lots of Vietnamese coffee!

My only suggestion would be to put a few more recent films into the in-room movie service, and provide some written instructions on it as getting the sound working between the TV, the PC and the sound system was sometimes quite tricky!

Stayed here 3 nights with my girlfriend. Ive stayed in many hotels around the world and this would be the best ever. Rooms amazing clean, big, mordern and private! Staff are great and helpful, pool is great with amazing views. Stayed in the one bedroom villa great value for money.

Room Tip: Ask for one bedroom villa near pool with ocean view!

The only downside of staying here right now is the renovation of the pool restaurant. Yes they put guests in rooms away from the noise but every morning at breakfast we listened to the constuction. Lying by the pool (which is stunning) you also are disturbed by the noise. We went to beach which is beautiful and couldn't understand why more people didn't enjoy it!
That said and done I still have to give the resort 5 stars because that is truly what it is. The breakfast which was included was extensive including champagne. The service is outstanding. We didn't have a full dinner here but had the snack menu in the bar our first evening as we arrived late and didn't feel like sitting down to a big meal. We sat outside enjoyed a glass of wine and had several appetizers which were delicious. The spa is a very special retreat. We had massages which started off on the light side but when asked to apply more pressure it improved.
If you are to Hoi An I would highly recommend you stay here.

We were happy to read that you enjoyed your stay at The Nam Hai and appreciate the time you took to provide us with feedback. Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience caused by the refurbishment of our Beach Restaurant during breakfast and whilst relaxing by the pool side. The Nam Hai has effortlessly made it to the top of my list of all-time favourite resorts. It is the ultimate sybarite resort, exceeding expectations and anticipating needs. We could not put our finger on anything. Every detail was perfect, the service was personal yet still discreet, the resort had a zen-like calm and privacy about it and the villas were absolutely stunning. We travel a lot to 5* hotels and are quite critical hotel guests but the Nam Hai truly impressed us; our holiday was above and beyond any previous experience.

I think this place is amazing but we only had 2 problems the cashews in the mini bar had past the expiry date and the other problems was the renovations at the resturant which disturbed our relaxing time at the pool apart from this quality service excellent

Due to the work being carried out to totally refurbish the beach bar & restaurant I would strongly advise not to stay here for several weeks if you want a relaxing and tranquil time. It's impossible to avoid the noise around any of the pool areas. We were told there would be minimum disturbance and so decided to stay here rather than change hotel at short notice however we really wish we had. In addition a number of the villas are also having maintenance work so it's even noisy sitting outside your own villa.

As part of ongoing efforts to provide guests with a comfortable stay, we are in the process of upgrading the Beach Restaurant so that guests will be able to enjoy a more cosy dining option with covered seating at the restaurant terrace once it is completed by the middle of December 2012. Until then, every effort has been made to minimise its impact.

We were disappointed to learn that the works in progress has affected your stay and sincerely apologise for the disturbance caused. We have noted your feedback and I will look into this matter personally. Walter Hess, Resident Manager.

The Nam Hai is one of those resorts that literally take your breath away - from the moment you arrive at the reception entrance, you are greeted by a magnificent view of pools stretching to a vast beach and ocean in the distance. Then you are whisked away in a golf buggy, to your lovely Vietnamese-architectured villa. Our villa had a private plunge pool, which was quite large, at least 15 metres long, with a good depth (about 4 feet) and warm water. Every morning and evening, we just had to take our swim in this lovely pool !
Our villa was set slightly further away from the beach, on elevated ground, so it was a little bit of a walk to the dining and beach areas. However, the buggy service is quite efficient, and readily available.
The villa itself is very plush; with complimentary mini-bar and excellent coffee machine ! It's multi-level, so there are several small steps to take from the entrance, down to the bed level, then to the patio. In dim light, you need to be careful, because you can easily miss a step and fall !
Rather odd that the bathtub is placed in the main room of the villa, at the level above the bed, and the toilet and shower areas are set further back in a separate area.
There are 2 dining areas, just after the hotel entrance, separated by the 3 large pools. Both are very good indeed - but rather expensive. Nevertheless - the setting and ambience by the pools, and with the beach nearby, is very nice indeed.
The main pool is beautiful - and surprisingly, for adults only ! Young children were ushered by the pool attendants to their own pool area, on a higher level away from the beach - which was equally nice. The best part about the main pool is that it is infinity-style, and you can just gaze out beyond the edge to China beach and an ocean with pounding waves - Lovely !
For us, the beach was the best - a magnificent stretch of white sand and clear water. When we were there in August, the winds and waves were strong, but that added to great scenery and a lively atmosphere.
One thing I would suggest for a fellow traveller is to ask for a villa with a view of the sea and beach. Some of the villas are quite far back, so you can only see other villas !

Room Tip: Villas facing the sea are better - more breezy and better view
