“Beautiful hotel, but room views can be poor”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2013

A superb location, with extensive grounds, facing onto the river, away from the town, and we spent each evening with drinks watching the lovely sunsets and the local boats and ferries going past. Very close to all the action (unlike many of the big tour hotels) - you don't need the free ferry they provide (which is lucky, because it stops very early!). Lovely swimming pool and bar. The daily 'taster' market was fun to do once - very friendly and capable Swiss manager in charge of food etc. Breakfast buffets were wonderful - as of course was the location to eat them in. We didn't eat in the restaurant as there are so many wonderful places in town. Bicycle hire and laundry from lady just outside the gates works really well. Only problem was our room - it was billed as overlooking the swimming pool. The only window overlooked some scrubby working area, and the door opened onto a walkway (with chairs) which overloooked the swimming pool. Not quite the same thing! But room was spacious and well stocked.

The location of this resort is wonderful and away from the noise and bustle of old Hoi An. Right on the river with a nice swimming pool area and lush grounds. Just a short walk across the bridge to the main part of town. The daily 4.00pm local food tasting on the lawn is a lovely way of sampling their dishes and amazingly is free of charge also a good place to meet other travelers. Very well equipped clean rooms. The breakfast buffet is enormous and something to suit all tastes. The staff are courteous and helpful and there's a nice outside bar for evening drinks.

We stayed 5 nights in late January 2013. We booked a garden view room. We were met by arrangement at the airport - a very nice service. The first room we were given, the bathroom smelled very fusty and was clearly in need of a refit. We complained and without any problem we were moved to another room (which had 2 double beds in and was much nicer). The bathroom was also much nicer and completely acceptable. Before arriving in Hoi An we had wondered about staying at one of the resorts just outside on the coast but on balance thought we would prefer being in the town. We were sure that for us this was the right decision as it was really nice just being able to walk into the town when we wanted. This hotel has a great location on the river bank and only 5 minutes walk to the bridge to the old town. Whilst in Hoi An we did look at other places (including Ha An Hotel which we could not get into as it was fully booked) but decided that this was the best location and faciities in Hoi An as we wanted somewhere with a pool. The hotel provided a very good buffet breakfast, both western and asian food. The restaurant overlooks the river and there are some tables outside. The hotel had lovely grounds and a nice pool where we were able to relax after a lot of hard travelling. Hoi An is delightful. We liked it so much we stayed an extra 2 nights. As the hotel was booked up we had to move to a River view room which was US$115 per night but this room was superb with a terrace overlooking the river. The staff were really helpful and friendly. If you can afford the riverside view room go for that. Subject to my comment about the first room we were given we would thoroughly recommend this as the ideal place to stay in Hoi An

Room Tip: Riverside view if you can afford it

A top place to stay. Our room was huge - literally twice the size of an ordinary hotel room. Half was sleeping area and the other half was lounge and seating area. Bathroom was spacious. The grounds and the pool were very attractive as well as the staff offering great service. One of the managers, a Swiss gentleman, was always to be seen around the hotel, sometimes serving at the outdoor bar, or supervising the dining room - and often asking after how we found the standard of the hotel and the staff so that if we were dissatisfied in any way, they wanted to be told. Well we could assure them that we were more than pleased with our experience.

The walk into town is just five minutes through spacious calm "suburban" streets - in itself a real pleasure. I am so glad that we stayed here rather than at one of the big resorts on the beach because the calm river outlook was delightful and it was so good just being a few minutes stroll from town instead of being reliant on taxis or shuttle buses for transport.

Would definitely recommend it - was great value for money too, I think.

Room Tip: All the buildings are two stories, so if you don't want to go upstairs, then make sure to reques...

3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2013 via mobile

We stayed in this hotel for two nights in January. After reading the good reviews in tripadvidor I had high expectations about this hotel.
The beginning was good , we arrived after a long bus drive early in the morning and by 8 am got our room. The hotel premises is very beautiful, the room is tastefully decorated.
The problem started when we heard a loud noise from the construction works near the hotel. The manger told us that we can move to a room in the other side of the hotel but there can be noise at night from the bars on the street . That wasn't an acceptable solution to the situation.
At breakfast ( which was very good) we asked for a cup of cappuccino and after 30 minutes of waiting we got our coffee with a bill of 150 thousands dong. They never told us that there is an extra charge for the coffee and the price is triple that any other place in Vietnam. I have never been to hotel that charge you an extra for coffee at breakfast.
The water pressure in the shower suddenly become very strong with a splash of hit water which makes the shower very uncomfortable.
The wifi is very slow and sometimes doesn't work at .
We enjoyed our stay at Hoi An and most of the time at the hotel, but all those problems that I mentioned are the reason for a 3 star review.

We travelled with our 4 young children and had two large river view deluxe interconnecting rooms. They were massive. The pool was right outside and the view to the river just lovely. We didnt eat at the hotel much but the breakfasts were great. All staff at the hotel very accommodating.

First trip to Hoi An and stay for only a night. Lovely, clean big rooms on the riverfront. It just took about 5 minutes walking distance to the old town where you can enjoy your night there because there are plenty of cafe and pubs on the river side.
