“Great Location, Friendly Staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2012

We stayed 4 nights and were overall very happy with the resort.
We stayed in a standard room and by all accounts the mattress was firm. That said, I still slept well despite the constant traffic noise, however this could be an issue for lighter sleepers.
Breakfast was a buffet-style with a reasonable range of eastern/western options and helpful staff on-hand to cook to your preference. The pool was refreshing in the heat & humidity and the rooms were air-conditioned which was a god-send.
Reception staff were always friendly and welcoming and helpful in organising tours and advice.

Room Tip: If you want a comfortable mattress - ask for a superior room. Rooms away from the street have less...

A fair location just across the bridge from town. Gardens quite nice and pool looked ok but. Didn't use it
Breakfast was average, coffee wasn't hot. Food just so so.
Staff were not particularly interested
The mattress on the bed was old, cheap and very uncomfortable. The worst bed in 10 weeks of travel

we only stayed in this hotel for one night we were 3 couples they gave us 3 rooms that had one long balcony on ground floor, after about 7 hours on tourist bus the pool was much appreciated.
i don't know what people expect for a 2 star hotel our rooms were clean and cool.
the food was good, because we were so tired we did not leave the hotel but we were happy with the staff and would go there again.....

Room Tip: ask to see rooms first most places will show you.

This hotel, whilst close to the sites is tired and poorly managed. The rooms were not cleaned properly and service was slow and half hearted. Breakfast was very average and the bar staff incredibly slow.

Security is an issue. I had money stole from my room which was locked during the day. The door locks could easily be broken into and the safes in the rooms were locked open and so unusable. It's redeeming feature was the pool but that is it.

The hotel has a spa but every time we passed we were hassled to use the facility.

Room Tip: Stay elsewhere.

Our room was full of insects and the beds were to hard to sleep on. This was for the management however, no reason to give us any discount or compensation. On top of that, the breakfast was terrible.
Don't go here.

We have stayed at the Pho hoi before. It is close to everything, but out of the hustle and bustle. We stayed in a Bungalow and it was roomy enough and clean. Unfortunately the beds were extremely hard and I had to order extra quilts to try to put some padding on the bed. They really need to learn to put the chlorine in to the pool at night instead of the morning and maybe put a little bit of cold water in to cool it down or find a way to cover it for part of the day so it doesn't get so hot. Breakfast was average for Vietnam. The staff were very helpful (although our friends did have some issues with room changes). The manager is only relatively new and is slowly implementing changes to this hotel. Of course if they do too much then they need to put their prices up.... Value-wise this hotel is great value for money. The manager was very helpful on a number of occasions and we would certainly stay at this hotel again. Our previous visit we stayed in the main hotel rooms and they were certainly not on the same level as the bungalows. Spend the extra - It is well worth it!!!!! Whilst in Hoi an we did the day trip out to the island. We had a lovely day. Lunch was okay. Beach was lovely. Hoi an is fabulous for shopping and relaxing on their beautiful Palm Tree shaded beaches!!

Room Tip: Go the Bungalow!!!!!!

The hotel has all it needs to be a good resort (swimming pool, nice location, spa, etc). Unfortunately it is not very well managed and maintained. Rooms are not very clean and look old-fashioned. Personnel doesn't seem very efficient. Breakfast was average.
