What a lovely place to stay! Beautiful very large rooms, amazing bathroom, lovely attentive and helpful staff, beautiful and convenient location with free shuttle bus services to the beach and town and the food (including breakfast) was great. Pity about the weather. Attended the cooking school here, which included a trip to the market to buy some of the supplies (whilst it was still reasonably dry) which was also very worthwhile and a good thing to do on a very wet and rainy day. Would love to stay here longer; we had 2 nights here, and recommend the place highly.

This resort is fantastic! Excellent service, free shuttle to the beach or town, great pool and room. Although no door on the shower it is easily worked around. Laundry across the road and massage too. Taxi is $2 to/from town.

I'm loathe to write a negative review but unfortunately, this was exceptionally disappointing from the beginning. We commenced with being told by the manager that my online payment receipt must have been incorrect and we hadn't actually booked a room because the site we used does not accept online payment?

After about 30 minutes of waiting, he apologised and told us he had no rooms available except a small one and could we wait in that for an hour or so while they made a room up.

We took the advice of previous travellers and did not eat at the restaurant but went to the river instead - a fantastic suggestion.

When we went for breakfast the next morning, we were very disappointed with the buffet that previous advisors had raved about - the food was old (looked as though it had been sitting there for half a day) and there were lots of bugs covering the fruit and bread items.

There were certainly a large number of staff to cater for guests, however they all stood around in clusters speaking to each other in Vietnamese rather than looking after the guests - my partner and I felt like an inconvenience than a paying guest.

Even more interestingly, when we returned to the room after breakfast, we received a call to the room to make sure we were checking out and to make sure we were out by 12!! I've certainly never received that service at a resort before!

We would have if we could but were pressed for time and so decided to stay one more night.

After another morning of the same service (although they moved us into a cheaper room), we had to get out as we didn't want to spend our last night in Hoi An here! We found the Hoi An Historic hotel and were absolutely devastated we didn't find it sooner.

Overall, a very disappointing experience - I hope the hotel gets it right because the grounds and the architecture of the buildings and rooms are beautiful.

The resort is right on the main road into Hoi An and only a few minutes by bicycle into the old town. It is a very peaceful place, well maintained with a wonderful bar and pool. We didn't use the spa, but it looked very very nice from the pool. The room was simply HUGE....an upper and lower level and small balcony. The grounds are lush with orchids, and palms. Beds were great, and bathroom was most pleasant, even with the wooden shutters between the bedroom and tub/shower. The rainshower cubicle was super....almost felt like you were outside (you aren't). We had bicycles from the resort as part of our package...and biked around Hoi An (it is nice and flat....so no huffing and puffing). The traffic is just as crazy as elsewhere in Vietnam...but once you get the hang of it, it is a lot of fun. The scooters and cars wont hit you...it is like a dance everyone weaves in and out and around each other. Breakfast was OK, nothing super. The bar was nice to finish the night off with a drink and relaxation.
