“Incredible Value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2014

This was the most beautiful location we stayed in while traveling South East Asia. The hint of Japanese decor was incredible right down to silk robes. Each room has a television that is also a monitor for the small desk top, complete with mouse and keyboard. Incredible gardens, full buffet breakfast and just a 20 minute ride to the beach on free supplied bicycles. A definite oasis in the opinion of those I back packed with.
Well Done!

The best thing about this hotel is the great location in proximity to the old town of Hoi An. It's less than a 5 minute walk to anything in the old town and less than 20 minutes on the free bikes to the beaches. It's very colonial and the rooms are unique, but the hotel was a bit loud because they were doing renovations or repairs. The breakfast was fabulous with a nice buffet. The one downside was the price which was significantly higher than similar hotels throughout vietnam.

We stayed at the Ha An hotel in november 2013 and we would highly recommend it. The rooms are clean, the breakfast excellent - especially the freshly pressed fruits - and the staff very helpful.
The staff organised pick up and drop off from Danang airport, helped us booked a driver to go to the marbles mountains, Danang, Hue and My Son. The staff also helped us in contacting the post office so that we could ship back home some heavy items that we had bought during our one month trip in south east asia. The hotel is only 10 minutes walking distance from the old Hoi an but still in a very quiet location. The hotel also offers free bike rental which is very useful if you want to have a look at Cai Dai beach for instance. One small thing that we found a bit annoying is the size of the room. Our room was very small. Because we had been travelling for a month we had quite a bit of luggages and we had to shuffle around them in the room because there was practically no room for them. So if you are travelling with big suitcase, just ask for a bigger room. Next time we go back to Hoi An, we'll definately stay at the Ha An hotel.

We spent three nights in this hotel, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The courtyard garden was lovely with two hammocks and a pool under a covered shade in one corner. It was large enough for our kids to run around. The breakfast was simply fantastic with wide range of freshly cut fruits, the best breads and delicious cheeses. Eating breakfast in the covered terrace was delightful. Our room was downstairs in one corner with plenty of privacy. The room was tastefully decorated with a pretty bathroom. The only criticism of the hotel would be the slow service, not so centrally located and a drab lobby.

Best breakfast. Everything fresh and so many choices. Restaurant appears happy to serve food all day. Excellent location away from busy tourist area but still very close to everything. Free bicycles for riding around town. Garden courtyard provides a real oasis.Ground floor rooms open straight onto this. Very cheap cocktails. Rooms extremely clean : attended to twice a day. Highly recommend this hotel.

I have mixed feelings regarding this hotel. On one hand it has all the charm you could ask for yet it falls short.

Last time I was in Hoi An I stayed at Windbell and when I return in future I will go back there.

The rooms at the Ha An are very poky and difficult to share. There is a beautiful big stone tub but when you try to fill it you run out of hot water before it is 1/4 full. There were workers on a ledge outside our room sawing bamboo at a very early hour of the morning after our long trip to get there. I didn't mind too much as the Vietnamese are very hard workers but they could see straight into our bathroom and I had to hang face cloths over the window for privacy whilst in the shower.

The staff are lovely and this review is no reflection on them. I do know you can get much better accommodation in Hoi An for the same price. If you want French Colonial charm and are willing to sacrifice everything else for it then this is your place otherwise I highly recommend Windbell.

We stayed for 4 nights in a double bed private ensuite. On arrival we were tired from a long journey, it was dinner time and the check in although very lovely, was slow. We had a room upstairs overlooking the garden and the room was well decorated, with a nice small balcony with two chairs. The location is ten minutes walk from all the hustle and bustle and we enjoyed the quiet away from the Main Street. There are many restaurants close by and the market and the old town. The service was distant but polite. Breakfast was a good buffet selection as you would expect plus delicious croissants and breads. The garden was nice to sit in and relax between shopping expeditions. On the last day were were told there was a mistake with our booking ( despite having clear documentation to the contrary) and were moved to a lower standard room which was small and had no view or balcony but was still clean and nice.

In summary nice hotel, good location.
