Excellent hotel in Hoi An.

Great place to rest. The staff is amazing and the food service also.
Great pool for swimmers and the beach is 2minutes walking.
The ocean took some meters to the hotel beach but right next to it you have a long cost to explore.
Spa, fitness, restaurants and pubs also make your enterteinement in this great hotel.

If you are visiting Hoi An then it's a pretty good base. Safe, lovely pool, nice gardens and well laid out. Downside is the beach is eroded so in fact there is no beach so you have to walk about a km to the public beach which is actually a nice walk and very pleasant. Water is ok, just ok. Rooms are nice, very comfortable, nice balconies, you don't need the sea view, all rooms are close to the pool. Taxi to town is $3 each way. Hoi an can be done in 2 days, careful with the tailors, don't leave things to the last minute, always try things on, lots of mistakes. They don't really bargain very well so don't both trying too hard. Not a lot to do with a 7 yr old unless you bring an IPad, or DS. Most fun was leaving and escaping the typhoon. Nice but doesn't deserve more than 2 days, it's not a beach holiday which we thought it was, Singaporean chef great guy though.

We had just stayed at the Victoria so it was interesting to compare and contrast. The rooms are modern, clean and well appointed, but could have been anywhere in the world... The pool is the main drawcard and does not disappoint, the sleazy guy in the rug shop telling me he could sell me a silk top I could buy in any shop in Hoi an for US$10-20 (depending on haggling skills) for "$70, reduced to $50" left us in stitches...

Food was quite good, but service in restaurants is definitely not up to scratch. The guys in the pool bar did a great job though.

Many of the rooms on the ground floor closest to the beach are boarded up and the hotel staff madly patch the sink holes in the little bit of sand between the sea wall and the pool every morning as the sea relentlessly tries to reclaim what is hers - this seems to be a very good example of a resort developed too close to the sea. One gets the feeling they are trying to squeeze a few more years of revenue out of it while doing minimal maintenance, before they lose that pool to the ocean!

I love the way the "General Manager" replies to each post, no matter what it contains, with the same naff "thank you for your valuable comments. Well noted and I would like to welcome you back...." yeah right. Well General Manager, I DARE you to actually read this review and write us a tailored response!

But that pool... For $114 on Wotif I would stay again for the pool and the lovely pool bar dudes.

This was a nice place to stay. We upgraded our room to a beachfront villa with stunning views of the south china sea right out our back door with hammocks and sun beds. The pool bar is great with wonderful service. There is no beach left at this hotel so if you are wanting to lie on a beach and tan this is not the hotel for you. It is located about 5 kilometers out of the main shopping of Hoi An but they do have a shuttle bus that take you in and out for shopping. We hired a scooter from the front of the hotel for the 4 days we were there for $10 AU a day, they didn't even ask for ID or a name, just handed over the keys and off we went.This would have been our favorite city in Vietnam!! If you are wanting clothes to be made I would recommend a shop called "Yally". They a well known and have a good reputation. We spoke to other people that used other taylors and were VERY disappointed. I had clothes made at Yally and am very happy.
