“What an experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 days ago NEW via mobile

We've just finished 6 glorious days staying at the Anantara. It's a wonderful hotel. From the moment you arrive there is a sense of calm. Every single one of the staff were so friendly and went out of their way to make you feel special.
From a location perspective it is perfect. Far enough from the frenetic activity in the old town of Hoi An with its wonderful tailors, bars and restaurants but near enough to be able to walk.
We've noticed some people criticising the pool on trip advisor but we loved it. It's a big pool surrounded by palm trees and there are loads of sun beds and bean bags to choose from. In the morning the pool is lovely and cool and understandably heats up a bit during the day but it's still refreshing.
We had a room overlooking the river which was great with loads of activity on it to watch during the day. All the rooms for what we could see were large and had views of either the lovely gardens, the pool or the river.

We have been to many Anantara hotels but from a location perspective, level of customer service and quality of hotel, the Anantara Hoi An is a winner!

We had the best stay at Anantara in Hoi An and so glad we chose this resort to stay at.
Firstly it has to be in the best location, only just outside old quarter and so close to many great restuarants/shops.

The resort itself is beautiful and the gardens are really well maintained. We had a room that overlooked the river which I highly recommend. Our room was very large and spacious!

All the staff were amazing and very friendly - if you had any issues someone was always there to help!

We thought the pool area was great and spent most afternoons here relaxing, eating & drinking.

Breakfast was great, big variety of foods including a fresh egg/crepe/pho station. Its also situated upstairs so you could have a lovely view of the river.

We did the afternoon sunset cruise which was nice but we highly recommend the Dining by Design - food was really delicious and they really make the effort to make your dining experience feel special!

All the wonderful reviews of this hotel is true! My family & I felt so well looked after here. We were new to the town and were looking for a SIM card. Hoi An isn't a typical shopping area with easy signs and a full range of products. The duty manager, Miss Lin, who isn't a native of Hoi An town herself, took the trouble to hunt for the card for us. She told us to go walk around town, have our dinner and she'll leave it in the room for us by the time we return...and lo & behold, the card was laid on our bed with a lovely note and the change. Later, she came in with another staff to explain to us how to use it. She told us that she starts work around 8am and doesn't finish till late. Wow!

Hoi An is a lovely town to explore. It is more of a heritage site with old timber & stone houses that appears to be centuries old. There is even a well next to the market which water the stall holders used to clean vegetables. It's a pity we stayed only a night at the Anantara. Should we visit Hoi An gain, we'll definitely stay at the Anantara.

Room Tip: This place does not have lifts. Therefore people with mobility problems may wish to choose ground fl...

This hotel is well located in Hoi An, close to the Old Quarter, shopping, restaurants and the market.

The markets are a five minute walk away, with the Old Town another few minutes along.

The hotel rooms open onto a walkway, with beautiful gardens in which to relax.

The rooms are large and well appointed with all the usual amenities.

The pool is one end, and a very enjoyable retreat from the heat after being out in the tropical heat.

Breakfast is buffet style mix of western and local favorites, with the open restaurant looking out onto the river.

Enjoy a luxury resort hotel, you certainly would not be disappointed.

Room Tip: An upper level room would be suggested.

There are a lot of hotels that say they are in Hoi An, but this one actually is. A five minute walk along the road puts you in the local street markets, another 2 minutes and youa re in the old town. The hotel is a classic colonial style hotel, all the rooms open onto a walkway around each floor, and are large and well maintained with all the usual ameneties. The pool is set at one end, a oasis in the heat that can build up during the day. Breakfast is an Anantara tradition, buffet style mix of western and local favorites, enjoyed in an open restaurant facing onto the river.

This is a luxury resort hotel, but on a small scale, it doesnt feel like the big hotels along the nearby coast, and so feels more local, and intimate. The bicycles are free for use, and there are plenty of them, we cycled up to the beach in about 40 minutes, and some of the better local seafood restaurants along the beach road there.

This hotel is a great base for exploring the town, giving you some luxury to come back to in the evening as you relax in the old colonial bar and have a refreshing drink.

Thanks team Hoi An for making this another memorable Anantara stay.

I stayed as a solo traveller at the Anantara for 3 nights in August and from the moment I arrived felt welcomed, well-looked after, comfortable and relaxed! The staff were absolutely wonderful, especially those at the restaurants and bars on site. The rooms were clean and well-appointed and the "goodnight" messages and folk stories left on the bed before I returned from dinner each night a lovely touch. I had a Junior River View Suite on the ground floor that was enormous (especially for one person) and enjoyed having the view over the river. I actually don't think i have any complaints - although the shower heads in the bathroom weren't the greatest, I managed; and consider it a small flaw in an otherwise perfect stay. Only minutes walk to the main road into town and the heart of Hoi An (and so close to the lively markets and streets full of tailors). The Degustation Dinner menu at Lanterns is a must for a delicious sample of traditional Vietnamese food and coming here for breakfasts was lovely with a view over the river. I hope to return to Hoi An one day and when I do will, without question, return to the Anantara - thank you!

Room Tip: If you're going to stay here - definitely go for a room with a River View - you won't regret...

Anantara was our Hoi An hotel for three nights. Can't say enough about the friendliness, professionalism and helpfulness of the staff - they couldn't do enough for the guests. There was a fabulous breakfast with a myriad of options and catered for all tastes. The open air ambience of the restaurant was great - the fans worked overtime in the humidity. The pool, although a little warm because of the outside temperatures, was central to all facilities and the bar staff were very attentive. The standard rooms were designed well and the bed was super comfortable. Very central location and would certainly return again.
