“Good hotel in close proximity to town centre”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 24, 2013

We recently stayed here for 4 nights. We enjoyed our stay with the hotel but the swimming pool and free bike hire were our highlights. We wanted a hotel with a swimming pool and as we are backpacking we are on a budget. We paid more than we usually would in the hope of a bit more luxury but we both agree that we had stayed in better hotels for £10 or so less during our time in South East Asia.

The staff were all great - friendly, polite, smiley and helpful all the time. The rooms were clean and very spacious and it was nice to have a balcony. The rooms are dated and so is the bathroom but this isn't a problem as everything functions well. The breakfast was good as its a buffet but the day I had an omelette it was swimming in oil so I left it.

The swimming pool was big and clean and was refreshing after a bike ride. The free bike hire was great and we had no problem getting bikes which we used all the time during our stay. The beach is nice and you get free sun beds and the food and drinks are reasonably priced. It did however seem further than 3km so don't attempt to walk it!

Our only gripe is that they started housekeeping really early. At 7am you would here them talking to each other and by 8am they were moving furniture around in the room above us which woke us up properly at 8am every morning without fail. Maybe its an early hotel where guests are early risers but I think they should consider that for some people its also a holiday and sleeping past 8am would be nice!

Stayed for 4 nights in late April early May 2013. We were warmly greeted by lovely receptionist. Once given our welcome drink, she sat with us and gave us a rundown of the hotel and showed up points of interest on the map. Very helpful.

We had a great room on 5th floor with nice views of paddy fields one side and pool on the other and we were just a few metres from the reastaurant. At first I thought this might be a noise issue, but it wasnt. Room was spacious and comfortable, Bathroom was modern, though rather dark, and shower did make the floor quite wet, but as housekeeping staff dealt with that on a daily baisis, it didnt bother me. This hotel also provided a powerboard to help with the charging of all those gadgets, so there another tick in their favour. Fridge was cold and there were plenty of shops nearby to stocki up on beer, water and softdrinks.
The hotel has its own beach area, which they say is only 3km away, but I think it was more like 5km...but that might have been because my loaner bike had a flat tyre and a stuck back wheel. The complimentary bikes were great, as Hoi An is a wonderful town to cycle round. The hotel is about 15 minutes walk to centre or 5 minute ride and lots to look at in between, so cannot complain about location. The bikes could be a little better maintained, but once you pointed out a problem it was looked after.

The hotel offers services from their in-house lavender spa.. the photos in the brochure and online look very appealing, but the reality is quite a different story
The spa itself is not any cleaner or more well-appointed than its cheaper sisters out in the street, the staff look a little unkempt in their un-ironed shirts and were quite lazy. We spent a considerable amount of money on a couples package, and felt that what should have been at least a 2 hour experience was quite lacking. Being given a salt scrub on you back, while lying on a plastic sheet and then being made to turn over and lie in the oil and salt while being massaged on the front, was uncomfortable and unpleasant. My husband was given the full scrub first, then showered, then massaged (without the plastic sheet). My deluxe pedicure lasted less than 5 minutes.. my nails were trimmed and some moisturiser was rubbed into my feet and calves... that's it. The packaged advertised, salt scrub, one hour traditional massage, deluxe mani or pedi and fresh meal. We got a glass of watermelon juice. As this was our special experience on our 23rd Anniversary I have to say it was very disappointing.

Room Tip: check the bike before you go out on it and ask them to pump up tyres etc if necessary. Avoid the sp...

We travelled in April 2013.We had booked another hotel about 10 minutes out of town. We decided to move in closer to town, and we came across the Glory hotel, staying there for approximately 10 nights.Like the other travelers say the bed was rock hard.We like soft beds but I guess you can't please everyone. The hotel is rated 4 stars in Vietnam, but we would rate it 3 stars from Australian standards. The pool was lovely, the rooms were a good size and clean, and this hotel was in a great location.Easy walking to everything, but we chose to ride the free bicycles lent to you from the hotel. What made this stay here a wonderful experience was the extremely friendly and funny reception staff who spoke very good English.Thanh Nguyen Tran (Justin Bieber) and Pha Le Da were outstanding. It was a pleasure walking through reception and see their smiling faces and having a joke with them. They couldn't do enough for you to make your stay a pleasurable one. We may return to Hoi An one day, and I would stay at the Glory hotel again just to see these guys, and not to mention the other reception staff were the same, I just don't have all their names. Great place, great people and great location. Thanks again.

The place was ok, but the worst of the hotels on our trip to Vietnam. Old and very hard beds. The room was large if a little musty. The pool was good but had a rule of no swimming at night. Our room was close to the bar area and a little on the noisy side. The toilet leaked in our room, we asked a number of times for someone to come, but alas no one did arrive. We had a very early morning check out where we were accused of taking the robes/kimino from the room. They wanted to charge us when we didn't even open the wardrobe once during our stay and had no idea that robes were even provided!

Great location, nice pool. Special thanks to the very helpful and friendly staff with a particular thanks to Huong and Thuy who both looked after me admirably, helped me with stupid international phone calls, and made me feel very welcome in general. I would go back just for their service!!

Room Tip: The rooms are a little noisy, but I would choose one overlooking the pool.

A lovely hotel within walking distance of the old city, shops and restaurants. The staff were very friendly and helpful, offered us tours if we needed them (we already were on an organised cycling tour). Couple of problems – the bed was extremely hard, so much so that I ended up with a backache (not good for cycling), the bed cover was too small and didn’t cover the whole bed, TV remote didn’t work.

I stayed here just for two nights with my two children. In the heat of the day the walk into town seems quite a distance. But the hotel will lend you bikes for free, which was fantastic fun. We ended up cycling to the beach, around the rice paddies, and to the old quarter. Our triple room was the biggest we have stayed in during our 3 week holiday. Our room was clean, the one negative was the tv did not have any reception. The swimming pool is a great big pool which was a welcome relief from the heat. The service was ok, but after staying at the golden legend hotel in Hanoi which had exceptional service, we felt a little disappointed by the service. There was one lady who was always welcoming, but otherwise there was not much attention.
