“good collection of pottery”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 24, 2013

If this is your thing then the collection was quite big however the house itself was more intersting than the pottery for me personnally.

“Bring a torch as the curator is absent (or nonexistant)”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2013

Though there are the occasional nice pieces of ceramics its fairly easy to understand why the building itself comes off as so much more impressive then the ceramics it is supposed to house. In truth there is no labeling, no organization, and a real issue with the displays as often the basic broken kitchen ware gets front and central stage, while the ornate pieces are left languishing in the dark on the lower shelves.

In short, bring a torch with you, a sense of humour, and some aspirin for your back

“Lovely building - lousy ceramics”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2013

This should be re-named "architecture house" because on that score it is meaningful. As to the broken plates and vases of many generations I can probably open my own and it will be better. It is on the inclusive Hoi An tour so go for the building.

“I love ceramics - did not think this very exciting”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

We went here as I love ceramics - stuff is not very well displayed and poorly described - building is interesting, recommend if you are short on time to skip

“Only worth it for the house”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2013

This is the only house in Hoi An where you can go up to the first floor, and it's worth a visit for that alone. The museum is a joke as others have written (sorry for being non-PC, I am sure a lot of people worked with it). The most interesting "artifact" is a map of the world showing where pieces of pottery have been found. It's cool to see all the countries' names written in Vietnamese.
