Owner description: A local favorite, construction on this covered bridge began in the Year of the Monkey (1593) and was finished in the Year of the Dog (1595), hence the monkey and dog sculptures at either end.

“Nice to look at.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2013

It is very old, and I can only imagine the history hidden in its walls.
It adds charm to the old city of Hoi an.

“interesting”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2013

Our guide book had it as a free attraction- it's not- you'll have to use one of your 5 tickets for it. You can just see it from the outside- no big deal going through it.

“You have to pay!!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

The bridge itself is lovely but it is absolutely ridiculous that you have to pay to cross it! You have to purchase a ticket for I think 6 things and that has to be included on the list. This is really silly cause the best view is from the outside anyway which is easily viewable from the river side. Also there is another bridge like 10 meters away and closer to the river so we just crossed that for free. Or you could go one street up from the bridge and walk around! Shame Hoi An is becoming so touristy!

Tip: no one is there to man the bridge and ticket checking at night so feel free to cross over anytime after about 6!
