“Stay away !”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2013

Worst hotel stayed since the beginning of our trip.
Breakfast was small nothing special
Staff were nice but unable to provide a different room when we requested one.
Our room was good size, deluxe, with pool side, on first floor , that was bonus, the down side, s the room stank! Smelled poison and fish, we asked for a another room but they said no room available, so gave us encent to burn constantly, I later understood it was no room available in our price range cause when I walked around I saw a few empty ones. The bathroom and shower needs a refurb. The worst was the noise for Ac unit, never heard something so loud! And to top it off, during the nights there were very loud annoying noises coming from the walls, like something was alive inside of them! Location is as other say, between old town and beach

Never again

“Great value for money...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2013

For the price you really couldn't ask for more!
Our room was huge and the breakfast was fantastic. I liked the fact that this hotel was a little bit away fro everything, maybe 10 mins walk to the centre. We hired bikes from Mr Chin across the road and went everywhere on them, it's such a fantastic way to see this gorgeous litte town.
The staff were helpful in organising airport transfers and chased up our laundry for us when we running short on time, nothing was a problem.
I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room number higher than 108, 101-108 are very near the reception/main traffic area and if...

“Happy enough”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2013

We booked late for our trip to Hoi An and decided on this hotel due to it's reasonable price, position and rating. Price was ok for what we got. Breakfast had most of the usual things on offer, fresh fruit, juice, tea & coffee, made to order eggs and banana pancakes, bacon, croissants, pastries, bread and jam.
I would have like to be a little closer to town but it was a not too difficult 15 minute walk to the old city. We hired bikes and rode to the beach which is around 6 kms not the 2 or so indicated. The rooms were suitable for the city we were staying in, old style rooms fitting the old style city. I thought in general the place is a little tired, needs a paint and freshen up but I felt I got value for money. Staff were friendly and helpful, particularly the guy from breakfast who never stopped smiling :)

Room Tip: Most of the rooms would be quiet, there wasn't a problem with noise. If you like the idea of a...

“Huge disappointment”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013

We booked here for Hogmanay wanting a treat while backpacking. Unfortunately for double the price of other hotels you are getting half the service. Though we booked for three nights we only stayed for two as it was so poor. The reception staff were a joke with poor English and as such it took a long time to check in even although we had a reservation. I had a bandagd ankle at the time and couldnt walk and they offered no help with our bags and refused to give us a room on the first floor. The pool was outside, cold and full of algae and leaves. Worst of all though we had a small infestation of ants in our room, when I asked to have it cleaned I was told the housekeeping staff had gone home so we did not get the fresh linen and towels as promised.
All in all a huge disappointment.
The saving grace was the incredible breakfast and the loveliest man with the frying pan and warm smile who greeted us in the mornings.
We moved down the street to hotel hoa binh, half the price with bigger brighter rooms, the same toiletries, an clean indoor pool and welcoming staff.

“Great Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2012 via mobile

Superb and one of the best hotels for its type in Vietnam and we've stayed in a few. Has a colonial charm about and not too close to the city to be noisy. Excellent staff, food and coffee (!) and nice pool. Great hotel!
