“Huge disappointment”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013

We booked here for Hogmanay wanting a treat while backpacking. Unfortunately for double the price of other hotels you are getting half the service. Though we booked for three nights we only stayed for two as it was so poor. The reception staff were a joke with poor English and as such it took a long time to check in even although we had a reservation. I had a bandagd ankle at the time and couldnt walk and they offered no help with our bags and refused to give us a room on the first floor. The pool was outside, cold and full of algae and leaves. Worst of all though we had a small infestation of ants in our room, when I asked to have it cleaned I was told the housekeeping staff had gone home so we did not get the fresh linen and towels as promised.
All in all a huge disappointment.
The saving grace was the incredible breakfast and the loveliest man with the frying pan and warm smile who greeted us in the mornings.
We moved down the street to hotel hoa binh, half the price with bigger brighter rooms, the same toiletries, an clean indoor pool and welcoming staff.

Superb and one of the best hotels for its type in Vietnam and we've stayed in a few. Has a colonial charm about and not too close to the city to be noisy. Excellent staff, food and coffee (!) and nice pool. Great hotel!

This place on the whole is quite good and it would only need to change some small things to be really good.
The first thing they can't change is location becasue the road that the hotel is on is a busy road that has quite a few trucks driving on it in the early morning or night. So if you get one of the front rooms you get an early wake up call.
Second, The room where the computers are, is not good and is almost a staff room, had a few issues with the PC's - not an issue so much because there is wifi in the rooms.
Front desk staff didn't seem to be very interested but we were spoiled with some exellent hotels and service in Vietnam overall.
Otherwise the hotel was really quite good but I wouldn't stay there again becasue of the listed issues.

A small, yet beautiful boutique hotel located just outside the main shopping district. It is only a short walk to town, and if you wish to sight see the trendy way, a bicycle hire stall is located directly opposite the hotel. 30000 dong per day for a bike and you can have it until 6pm. If you walk out of the hotel and turn left, it is a lovely 20 minute bike ride to the beach (one straight road), or right and a 5 minute ride to town.

I am in room 107, it is very clean with a queen size bed, and lovely modern bathroom. Typical shower over the bath with great water pressure. Wifi is available throughout the hotel, and cable tv in the rooms. The pool is beautiful, and lovely to relax at in the afternoon. The hotel does not have any room service, however you are able to order food off a menu from a local restaurant, reception will order for you, and it will be delivered to the hotel free of charge.

Breakfast is served by the pool, and has a lovely selection of fresh fruits, with eggs (any way you like them) and banana pancakes cooked fresh to order.

A lovely hotel, and I would definitely stay here again.
