“Always have a solution for you”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2013

The staff went out of their way to change our room configuration at no extra cost to get us a triple bed room for our kids near our double room with pool view.
Exchange rate pretty good for a hotel and you have confidence your not getting ripped off.
Pool quite nice, gardens lovely, very cheap laundry and motor bike hire across road.
Only 5-10 min walk to get into the heart of old town and 15 min scooter to beach which is warmer than the pool. Lovely waves and can jump them in a jet ski.
When wife was sick they arranged a doctor within half an hour.
Breakfast was really nice with eggs any way you like and a pancake station that do banana and chocolate , our fav.

Room Tip: Pool view is best.

“Terrible service!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2013 via mobile

Where to start! We booked a transfer with the hotel which didn't turn up, the front desk manager then had the nerve to imply it was our fault because we didnt call when our flight was delayed, even though every other hotel managed to figure it out! They gave us a free set meal in the hotel restaurant but it was so gross I wish we hadn't bothered, really oily spring rolls and soggy vegetables.

If you book the Junior Suite room - buyer beware! The photos on the website and description only match a few of the rooms, most don't have the outdoor area/pool view and are much smaller. We complained and luckily got moved for our second night, but again were made to feel we were in the wrong because apparently we hadn't requested the outdoor area and pool view. Make sure you ask specifically for these features because the other junior suites are about 6 sqm smaller and you can hear all the traffic from the road. If you can't get the junior suite rooms facing the pool, just book a deluxe room as they have balconies and are a good distance from the road. The breakfasts are fine, but under no circumstances eat at the restaurant - worst food in Vietnam! Finally, we had one 7up from the minibar which was never replaced and they ran out to our taxi as we were leaving to charge us for it again which was pathetic and embarrassing. Overall the pool is nice, location fantastic and rooms good when you get the one you paid for, but no traveller likes to feel like they are just a big hassle for the staff when asking for what you've paid for!

“Disappointed by this re-visit”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013

I first came to Hoi An Hotel with an Intrepid group in 2001, and despite having a cheaper room across from the school, loved the place so much that I came back with my friend, in a Superior room which with taxes came to over $90 a night.
Positives: Hoi An is still a charming town, and Hoi An Hotel is well located with lovely well kept grounds. The room and the breakfast compare with the 3 star hotels we have stayed in VietNam at much cheaper rates.
Negatives: Room: a lot of noise! In the Charm Wing near the dining areas and kitchen etc. It is 6 am and we can hear the staff calling out to each other. Also the Hotel has had 3 wedding receptions in the last 2 days, complete with MC and amplified music. They do stop by 8 pm but yesterday there was loud music in the middle of the day and instead of a siesta I just got a headache. At this point I must add that the wooden shutters and sliding doors do not insulate from noise, including the squeaky electric cart coming to pick up luggage!
They have an inventory of what is in the room. I was concerned that the 945,000 dong kimonos were nowhere to be found and that we were going to be charged for them. Queried this, were told “they don’t have them in this wing”… but they are still on the inventory, along with the cups, glasses, etc… and a warning that we get charged with anything lost or removed
A lot of ants in the room, at one point all over this laptop. When we arrived there was still sand on the floor which got on our feet and in the bed.
Bathroom: poor water pressure in the shower and small and thin towels.
Reception staff: about 6 and 7, not friendly, I felt I was disturbing them with my query.
Internet: very spasmodic, have had better in the Central Highlands and in Hoi An Old Town.
We are planning a return visit to Hoi An but doubt we will stay here.

On behalf of Hoi An Hotel Management and staff ,I would like to express our thankfulness to have you stay with us .

We are really sorry for our faults affecting to your stay during your holiday in Hoi An Hotel .We record and find solution to improve it immediately as limit noise by shutter door , stop noise from staff in kitchen ,check room facilities from housekeeper ,do not pay attention to serve guest of reception .

For the ant in the room , we will contact Pest Control to solve this problem and intensify more time of working schedule .

For the water pressure , we are researching and making plan to renovate this system .

“Excellent location to the historic city”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2012

The greatest advantage to this hotel is its proximity to the historic World Heritage City (2 blocks ago) while offering a sanctuary from the bustle and noise of the town. The room was on the small side with a window overlooking their pool and courtyard. The breakfast (included) was good but not excellent. The bar just mediocre. On the other hand, the staff was very helpful and friendly. We rented bicycles on site and took a pleasant ride to the beach about 2-3 miles away. Still the greatest advantage to the hotel is that you cross a street and are a block from the old city where you can spend your day wandering among store, visiting the market, enjoying good food, and traveling back in time.

Room Tip: I would request an inside room overlooking their garden.

“Excellent 4 star hotel in Hoi An”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2012

What makes this hotel a winner is the location. Located on the fringe of the ancient city it makes it easy to walk to all the local attractions and restaurants.

We found our room to be large and well presented. Realising our room was over the laundry delivery access and near a main road we thought we were in for a rough nights sleep. The double glazed windows ensured a great nights sleep.

The breakfast included with the accommodation was a great way to start the day. Each morning we were surprised to have different fruits and juices.

The Hoi An hotel is a great place to relax at the end of a busy day.
