“Best Hotel, Wonderful Staff. First choice Hoi An!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2010

we planned to stay in Hoi An abouts 2 nights. Then We changed our plan, extend out stay to a whole week. The staff are great, friendly, welcoming, made out stay feel like home. Especially, all the girls who work in the front desk are amzing-so sweet. We love talking to them everyday. The room very clean, quite, charming and safe. The breakfast was ok.
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. HIGHLY RECOMMENED!

Well, there were rats. I think Hoi an has rats all over town as I saw one one night in the Old Quarter but these rats were loud. They were never inside our villa but I could tell they live in the roof. Our neighbours, when asked, said they heard them as well and thought at first they were dogs - yeah, they're that big. They run around at night over your head and squeak very loudly, sometimes sounding as if they're crawling by the window panes as well. The restaurant food is horrible - overdone, not hot, dried out - so you must go into town everytime you want to eat - a pain in the bum if all you want to do is laze around the pool all day. We did try the restaurant straight across the street - the Curry and Chicken with veggies was not bad. We stayed in Poolside Villa 113 for $47 CAD/night. We picked this hotel because it was reasonably priced and had a pool but knowing about the rats, bad food and unreliable shuttle, we would have paid extra to stay at the Heritage. The breakfast, however, is not too bad. Lots of selection: fruits, salad, dinner leftovers, omlette/egg station, crepes with syrup/strawberry sauce. My spouse thought the water when taking a shower smelled bad - I couldn't tell. The DVDs for sale in the lobby do not work - cut out half way through the video - to be expected for $2. The internet is slow often but they do provide 3 computers in the games room for free use. Rooftop restaurant does have a nice view over the city.

Planned to stay one night but stayed for two as we loved the pool side villa room. The hotel is perfectly located half way between the town and the beach with free shuttles in both directions and a cheap taxi ride the alternative. Pool was perfect for the hot mornings then we headed into town for great shopping and tailoring. Room was immaculate and the service was great. Also check out the great local restaurants across the road, food was beautiful.

A bit of a disappointment for a 4 star hotel. The breakfast was the worst we experienced in Vietnam, catering mainly for the Asian appetite. The toaster was a toaster oven which took about 5 minutes to cook a piece of toast. The orange juice was orange cordial. There was a poor selection of fresh fruit. The internet was so slow, another guest and I gave up in disgust. The porter service for us was non-existant to the point where when one saw me struggling with a case, looked up then turned back to his phone. It may have 4 star facilities, but there is better value closer to the town. Check out the dust in the hallways! Loved the girls at reception! Thank you ladies.

This was really good value for money. What made it even better was that we could hire push bikes for free. The pool was good especially on those extra hot days. Speaking of hot days it was a shame that our air conditioning unit was impossible to understand. Somedays it would work perfectly others it would have a mind of its own especially on our last night there where our room ended up hotter than outside.

The staff were great but there was a massive downside to their service.

We arrived a day later than check in but had already paid everything in advance. This included breakfast for each day. We arrived at 6am the day after check in which was fine with them but they tried to charge us for our breakfast for that day. When we advised that although we arrived late we still had paid for the night before so breakfast should be free they said yea ok thats fine. "would you like to pay $8US a day to stay in our extra special room with a view of the pool" .....

In vietnam where you are expected to get people selling you things on every street corner the last thing you need is for your hotel to keep trying to sell you things and not take no for an answer unless you kick up a fuss

Left a very bad taste in my mouth !.

Other than that the breakfast was really really good

My husband and I stayed here for a few nights on our honeymooon. We choose this hotel from reviews on Tripadvisor and were certainly not dissapointed. The location is right in between the beach and the shopping. You can hire mopeds for $10 a day, which is great for riding to the beach or to the shops. All the tailor made shops are opposite the hotel or a walking distance, as to are restaurants etc. All staff were very friendly, the Food and Beverage attendent 'Ha'. The Hotel has a private beach access with a Bar, pool tables, pool & restaurant. The hotel also has its own restaurant , spa/massages, and pool (where you can relax and have someone bring you cocktails!). Nice rooms too!

We stayed here for 5 nights as part of our honeymoon. Initially we were in a deluxe room but were upgraded to a superior room after a couple of nights which was a nice suprise. I would say the superior rooms are worth the extra few dollars and don't bother with the deluxe rooms as they are smallish and at the front of the hotel near the road. The staff were friendly and although they are obviously keen to sell their tours we did not find them pushy despite it being quiet and out of season. The swimming pool is pretty and we made use of the gym while we were there. It is located roughly halfway between the beach and town. If you don't mind using the hotel bus or walking we would recommend this hotel.
