“Best pool area of our travels”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 13, 2014

Our original room had problems, they were so helpful and moved us to a special room overlooking the pool, I must say it was special with a balcony. The main problem I found with all the hotels in our travels was all the showers were in the tub with hand held shower handles, this just makes it more difficult to shampoo etc. Another issue, if you are handicapped, there really are no handicap access areas. If you have a room on a lower floor, the restaurant still has a flight of stairs, but this is again common throughout the area.
The staff is fantastic, funny, friendly, and sweet. There is a show at dinner time. Breakast is really good, with Vietnamese pancakes that are like crepes. I fell in love with them. The bar area is interesting, many old type drinks, but they are willing to learn how to make new drinks. The spa staff is superb...I cannot say more...try the leg massage!

Room Tip: Try for a room by the pool...there are stairs for second and third floor..but they will carry bags.

The staff are so accomodating & friendly. There was so much food selection at breakfast. There swimming pool is good for swimming laps. I would recommend this hotel to family & friends. The shuttle to the beach & old town was very handy & on time.

I loved our time here! The staff were so friendly and happy to help you every time. Everything was completely explained to us on arrival along with a welcome drink.
The lady also helped us out when the taxi driver that dropped us off tried to get extra money out of us after he had agreed to a set price.
They have a free shuttle running into the old town and back at set times, and also the same shuttle service to the beach where we spent the day relaxing on the free chairs.
Yes the furnishing was not super new or flash but I still thought it was fine.
The only down points were that there was no flatscreen tv and the tube tv provided was quite small. Good movie channels though.
They have a pool table downstairs and small cardio area. Pool is nice and decent size.

This review follows the same theme as many others, a comfortable hotel which is looking a little tired in places. That said at the moment there is a lot of renovation going on around the hotel to improve some of the points that guests have raised on this forum. Our room 416 was kept spotless, the wifi was great, a/c very good but occasionally dripped a little. Breakfast was good and the rooftop dining area a pleasant place to be. We found the staff to be excellent and attentive and I think that probably earns the hotel an extra star. It's not a 5 star hotel like some guests seem to want but it's a solid performer and we enjoyed our stay, I would certainly stay here again. Regarding its location it costs £1 by taxi to the market area of hoi an and £1.50 to the far end of town! We hired a scooter for the week from the shop next door for £20. For a great early morning out try the local ferries across to the fishing port on the other side of the river, 50 pence return including the scooter, far better river trip than the tourist boats plying their trade in the town centre! There's a lovely little local market 5 minutes from the hotel, turn right up the main road, to the petrol station on your right, turn right just past it at the lights and you're there, no tourists just locals selling all manner of stuff we daren't eat!

A lovely friendly hotel equidistant from town and beach. Free shuttle bus to town and beach very useful. The staff at this hotel are extremely helpful and friendly. The cookery class was excellent and the chef, Tan, was so patient and encouraging. A lovely experience. Ellie, the receptionist, went out of her way to make our holiday special.

. This is a good hotel, we had a room for three people and it was adequate. The location is great for town and beach. We had a cookery class with the chef and made three dishes which we ate for lunch, this was great fun and well worth the small amount of money we paid. A special thanks to the chef for his patience!. Also to Ellie who had the friendliest smile and made us feel very welcome.

I stayed here about the same time last year and was very happy with my choice; I'd like to say the same again, but not quite. The 5th floor in particular is suffering from water ingress which has damaged the plaster, paintwork and laminate flooring significantly. Staff for the most part extremely polite and helpful, one notable exception was an individual I remember from last year as being a great asset to the staff, who this time round appeared downright hostile; I'll mentipn no names or area of employment as anyone can have an off day. On a more positive note, had a requirement to change room in the early hours owing to electrical & hot water problems, and this was handled very well indeed by the young duty manager. Stay again? Yes, but the management need to put some effort into maintaining the building a little better.
