“Just another museum...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2015

To be this is just another small museum of how the village life is and how they extract silk and make clothes, there is a second floor with displays on how their bedroom is like, there are also gardens/yards but nothing much to see

“Very interesting and well presented museum”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2015

This museum is the best we have seen so far in Hoi An. It has 3 rooms on each of the 2 floors. Each room is dedicated to a subject of interest such as will farming, fishing, music, textiles, homewares etc.

The signage is excellent, the building and displays are clean and plentiful. This is an ideal first stop museum here in Hoi An as it introduces you to the trades that made the town what it is.

Only reason it didn't get 5 stars is that we expected there to be a live display when we were there as advertised but it didn't seem to happen.

Regardless, the experience was still a very good one.

“One of the better Old Town sights”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2015

I didn't regret using one of my Old Town tickets on this place. As far as the ticketed sights go, it's large and has a good number of exhibits inside, most of which are related to silk and its uses.

Keep an eye out for the creepy mannequins. As much as I enjoyed the exhibits, the mannequins were my favourite bit.

“Very interesting lots to see”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2014

We were taken here by our guide. It's described as a Folklore museum. It tells their story really well from dress to tools. It's interesting to look after all the silk cacoons and how silk is produced. You get to see boats, farming equipment, mother of pearl tapestry and even a bed. It's very easy to navigate and easy to understand. Because of the great artefacts it doesn't matter if you don't read the plaques or your guide doesn't explain you can work it out for yourself.

The view from the upper building windows give a lovely view over to the river.

The museum is basically in to old wooden buildings and are connected by a lovely court yards with lush plants and water features. This is where you will find the toilets.

I found this museum very interesting and definitely worth a visit.

Give yourself about 45 mins to look around.

“Use one of your five Old Town chits for this”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2014

The English sign on the front says Museum of Folklore. We enjoyed the explanation of the silk production process and the displays about traditional life. The building itself was interesting to visit as well. We ended up buying some calligraphy art there. We thought this was the best museum that we saw in Hoi An.
