Hoi An Marina Resort & Spa is by far the best place we've stay so far in Vietnam. Our beautiful River View Villa came with a serene view of the river. Breakfast service next to the river bank was just exquisit! The resort is walking distance from the city center.

This brand new resort on the riverside not only has great facilities, but the staff are very accommodating and happy to help. The pool and lounge chairs make a great combination for a relaxing day, or they offer free bicycles to ride in to the old town on (only about 10 minutes away). A free breakfast is served riverside, and they have delicious fruit and great fruit juices. After getting sick from something I ate a couple days before, the staff were very helpful and offered me more fresh fruit and drinks. Every room as complimentary wifi, lounge chairs, rain fall showers, and extremely comfortable beds. Definitely recommend this to anyone, whether its a family, couple or solo. Planning a return trip already!

We are a family of four staying at the Marina Hoian Resort at the moment and cannot recommend highly enough. Situated only 7mins walk from the old town centre, this new hotel offers large, modern villas fitted with all mod cons, as well as beautiful river views and attentive staff.

We stayed in two river view villas. Each has a lounge room with tv, desk, couches and coffee table. Separate large bedroom with another tv and a balcony overlooking the river. Bathroom is brand new with a separate bath and rain water-style shower.

Breakfast (complimentary) is served down on the grass by the river. Fresh fruit, cooked breakfast to order and good coffee all make this a very affordable option. Swimming pool and resort style lounges overlooking the river are a nice touch. Complimentary bikes to take into town are also very handy.

What sets this hotel apart, however, is the staff. They have been so friendly, very accommodating and are obviously committed to making your stay a memorable one. And it's worked - we've decided to stay for another two days, and have been planning our return trip!

Room Tip: River view rooms have a great balcony.

We received a very warm welcome and a cold glass of delicious juice upon arriving by a private car from Hue. The reception staff speaks English, they are always smiling and helpful. The resort is located in a very nice, quiet location - maybe a 10-minute easy walk to the Old Town and all the attractions, silk shops and restaurants. The grounds are beautiful. It's a plus ordering breakfast from the menu at night and having it delivered on time to your room the next morning. Don't forget to do it. Then, you can open the glass sliding doors to the outside of your room - step out to your table with umbrella and enjoy breakfast as you watch locals on the river. There's construction going on during the day starting at 8:00 am. - because the resort just opened 3 days prior to our check-in. Our first room #101 was spacious, clean and comfortable with a private small pool just outside the rear glass siding door facing the Thu Bồn River and a few steps away from the resort's swimming pool. Pillows were hard. The resort management needs to consider offering softer pillows. The in-room Wi-fi is another plus for the resort. Sadly, during the evening the toilet backed-up and there was a mess. A technician was unable to fix the problem working almost 3 hours into the night as we sat outdoors gazing at the stars. The next morning, we moved to room #102 - and smiled when we noticed a small basket of fruit and fresh flowers. There were a few problems with the glass sliding doors not locking but they were fixed quickly. The resort manager offered us 2 complimentary cold beers when we returned for an afternoon swim, dinner at the resort in the evening or 50% off a private car to take us to the Hoi An train station when we leave for our 18-hour train trip to Hanoi. We accepted the 2 Tiger beers and opted for the private car to the train station that cost us USD$12.00 - 50% off what the resort charges - although we knew that you can purchase a private car in town for the same cost at USD$12.00. The resort's dinner menu is pricey and caters to West-style food and snacks. There are a lot of very good inexpensive Vietnamese restaurants in the Old Town. The Vietnamese cuisine is delicious. There was a young couple from Germany in another room adjacent to the swimming pool and the man's mother in a room next to theirs. All 3 tourists had maintenance troubles in their rooms too. I hope the resort management can work out all the maintenance troubles in their rooms and construction is completed soon. Otherwise, they need to lower the cost of their rooms which are pricey if you can't get a discounted deal on the Internet. Also, a private car to the train station needs to be competitive with the cost you can get for it in town. When we checked out, we were given a gift. A photo of us taken when we arrived - framed with a clock on a stand that now sits on top of our refrigerator at home.

Room Tip: Select Room 101, 102 or any of the rooms - ground level near the swimming pool that are lake side vi...

We got cheap rates online. Rooms are new, clean, modern. We had a garden villa, upstairs with a bedroom amd sitting area also a little balcony. There is a nice looking pool which we didn't use. Location is at least a 10 min walk from the main town. Room service is the main let down. It is the only choice really as there is no restaurant built yet. You are able to be served in the garden but the weather was drizzly so we ate in our room. My first order was fried rice and a soup as we had just arrived and were stuck inside with a sick child. The food took ages to arrive. The system is to send a staff member to take your order in person which I suppose helps avoid misunderstandings...then you wait for the food to be brought to you. Breakfasts were really poor. Cold food, lukewarm coffee, eggs not cooked as requested...pancakes were the saviour. There is a fair bit of work to do to get the service of food up to scratch. Prices for food were significantly more than our previous hotel in Ho Chi Minh City.
The gym was a couple of machines covered in plastic sheeting under a pergola. Not quite the same as the website pictures!!! Staff were friendly and helpful. Wifi was hit and miss. Power was on and off when we arrived due to construction going on nearby. We organized a pick up from Da nang airport and this went smoothly however despite our afternoon arrival our rooms were not ready.
Fine if you want cheap and cheerful and are happy to eat out for all meals.

This newly opened hotel has lots if potential. I wouldn't describe it as a resort, more a hotel with lovely grounds. They've clearly gone to a lot of trouble to import established trees and make the grounds look older than they are. The staff are really full on attentive and courteous. The hotel is in easy walking distance to the old town or you can take a push bike from the hotel if you fancy a bit of exercise. The downside is trying to get a shower. Maybe it's because we had an upstairs villa as we could hear the water pump switching on and off all night, but despite a lot of attention from the management we couldn't get a shower with a constant water flow. Likewise the Internet, sketchy at best, they fixed it by putting a new router in the adjacent room but that didn't work unless those people were in and had their power on! Ditto the 'movies on demand' despite various staff trying their best. Teething problems I expect. Overall I would overlook the teething problems as, at the time of this review, they've only been open a couple of months,

We totally enjoyed our stay at the Hoi An Marina.

The staff were very welcoming, friendly and looked after us very well during our stay. We were also well looked after at the massage/spa centre.

We stayed at one of the corner villa unit with the Jacuzzi over looking the river. The unit was well designed with excellent facilities. I really liked how the doors in the lounge and bedroom all slide opened onto a timber decking leading to the Jacuzzi. The manicured garden was an amazing sight and provided a relaxing atmosphere.

The hotel was only about 1 km from the town centre. We used the free bicycles extensively to get around Hoi An and were able to easily traverse all the streets in the old town.

We highly recommend this resort hotel and we will be back to stay longer next time!
