“Clean modern rooms and lovely pool”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2013 via mobile

We had 3 nights at sunshine hotel. Room on the 4th floor was spacious and light. Great value for money, just a little bit out of town, but they supply free bicycles so we were happy as we enjoyed the ride into town anyway. Swimming pool was great to cool off in and the staff were friendly.

A very nice hotel, the bedroom was bright, spacious and very comfortable with a nice balcony in the deluxe rooms. The staff were friendly and helpful and their is a small but nice swimming pool. There is s free bicycle available which makes the town a 5 minute ride and An Bang beach a 10 to 15 minute trip. On the minus side, the breakfast was dreadful, with eggs being the only western option available if you didn't fancy pumpkin soup, rice or noodles for breakfast. The fruit on offer was dry and tasteless and the only bread option was small pieces of baguette. Being a new hotel, the slightest noise seems to reverberate around the whole building and their is a building site directly opposite which operates from 7am to 6 pm, very noisy.

Room Tip: The deluxe rooms are excellent and will be much better when the building site opposite is finished.

We spent 5 nights in deluxe double room that had a balcony facing the front of the hotel. There was a construction work going on right opposite the street which meant some noise and dust to the balcony even though we were on the fourth floor. The room was really spacious and the bathroom had both a rainfall shower and a bathtub. Unfortunately the draining of the shower didn't work properly. The room was kept quite spotless and we received some additional towels by request. The bed was large and comfy and the AC was working nicely. The room also included an in-room safe which was large enough for a couple of ipads and dslr with additional objectives. Also free water bottles were given each day and the in-room wifi worked fast.

The hotel in itself is maybe a bit clinical complete with service to match. The service is good but slightly impersonal. There is also a spa available on the premises but the back massage could have been a bit rougher. Breakfast is buffet style including warm dishes as well and has some variety and pancakes made to order (service seemed to bee a bit slow). The pool is nice although the water is not as clear as it should be. Also not all the parasols at the sunbeds work.

The hotel is a bit too far from the old town with the walking distance of about 20 minutes. But the hotel provides plenty of free bikes for quests to use so you can make the trip in 5 also late in the night. The trip to the beach is some 2km but we forgot to time it. Remember to check the chains of your bike before embarking and don't forget to use the cycles lamp when it gets dark.

Nice hotel, not far from the city center. You can use a bike for free, really nice! The pool is sweet but use it in the morning or early afternoon because the sun is disappearing fast. Large and clean rooms, good minibar, free computers in the lobby, very friendly personnel! We had a great stay over there. The breakfast is also amazing!

brilliant hotel for such a good place , yes its 10 mins from town walking , but perfect .
new hotel , and spotlessly clean .
hubby and i took food poistioning from one of the local restaurants in hoi an(mango rooms ~beware tuna!!!!)
so it was great to have such a clean and spacious room to recover in .
only issue id say is they need to have a bar for night time entertainment ...doesn,t need much /prob just part of the restaurant could be altered to suit .
good variety at breakfast, and lunch food we ordered was good .
great pool ,although by 2pm its shaded...so take use of the free bikes and go down to the beach only 15 mins away (fantatsic)
we also went to the vegetable village 10minutes away on the bikes ,on same route as the beach ...brilliant to see .hoi itself is stunning ,you wont stop taking pics .
great hotel for stay here, loved it .
restaurant across the way is very good too, good music there too .

We stayed at Sunshine for 3 nights in March 2013 and had some mixed feelings about it. This place is set up and run more like a western hotel, so you miss out on the amazing Vietnamese hospitality that we have experienced elsewhere. We had some issues including shower running all over the bathroom floor so could not go to the toilet at any time without sitting in water, hotel insisted on keeping our passports, some clothes came back from laundry with new brown stains on them, and we had ants in our bed one night. Toiletries etc were also not changed daily. Having said that, bikes into town were handy (although many of the hotels seem to offer the same), bed was large and comfy, great views from our room, and one of the ladies at the desk called Jetstar Pacific and waited on hold to inquire about a flight change. We would stay there again if required, however would definitely look elsewhere is possible.

Had to stop in Hoi A for 2 days, so we stayed for 1 night on March 27 2013 into 3 beds standard family room. It was large enough for 3 of us and clean. Free wifi available in rooms, or internet from PC in lobby. The staff were friendly and helpful. They helped us arrange half day private trip to My Son place - 60 USD for 3 people including transfer from hotel to My Son and then to Danang airport. Breakfast was standard, There could be better selection of fresh fruits. The hotel has very good swimming pool and rent bike for free. Its good cause hotel is a little bit away from town center. I would definitely stay there again. Next to the hotel is a newly open restaurant.
