5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 10, 2012

The resort and location is amazing. Service is five diamond - food is excellent. What is the best is the ocean - right off the deck. You can listen to the pounding surf all night. No sound can compare. The pool is warm and inviting. I wish that our stay was longer. I wish it was not so far away. I highly recommend

We stayed at the Victoria Hoi An after 5 days in Hanoi. We were so happy we booked a hotel on the beach, as Hoi An was a nice sunny change and a slower pace than the craziness of Hanoi, so we were happy to just chill by the pool and beach and slow down for a bit before heading in to Saigon, which we'd heard was even CRAZIER than Hanoi. The hotel was comfortable and beachy (we were given an upgrade to a beach-front room because they had the rooms free- so our room was like a gorgeous hut- air conditioned and with tranquility of the waves crashing during the night.)
The hotel organises a shuttle bus to ferry into the Old Town during the day and evening. At first when we looked at the shuttle bus hours, we thought they were a bit infrequent, but then we realised that there's not that much to do in the Old Town, so if you plan your days and the bus you want to catch to and from the hotel, its actually a really good free service. We did try walking the 5km from the hotel to the main town one day, but in the 30 degree heat- and with people hasselling you to buy stuff all along the way- it's much better to catch the bus. Or a taxi.

This hotel complex has gotten a bit long in the tooth....
The brick flooring outdoor really requires a change as well as the various fishponds need an urgent cleaning! The entire setting however of this resort is certainly an attraction as its right by the sea allthough the beach is quite narrow due to the strong current of the sea.

The breakfast buffet is really an attraction and nicely presented.

The pool side has probably been renovated lately at least the floor seamed quite contemporary. But if you look for the details and a top class hotel this might not be the perfect hideaway for you...Unless they consider a total renovation, I would probably favor other hotels nearby for the future.

Nice hotel but a little bit dated. Located out of town. Good pool and spa. Loved the food that we ate around the pool. The rice paper rolls and pho were delicious. Great cocktails. Breakfast was really good, lots of variety. Loved the girls working at breakfast so happy and friendly especially Hiep (hope that is the correct spelling). Only things we were disappointed in were the bed (really hard) and the shower. You have to step into the shower as it was over the spa and wide open. The staff were really helpful and nice and the shuttle runs into town on a regular basis. Can't wait to go back to Hoi An. The food is sensational. If the Victoria were to undergo an update would stay there again for sure.

We were in the hotel for 5 'relaxing' days at the end of our tip to Vietnam. But also the typhoon was there...so, we were stuck in our Japanese room for 4 days... thankfully this hotel was so nice! Otherwise it would have been more horror...The food is reaaly good, the beach is also nice (but not on our time...) We told friends of us, they went there 3 times already...
For a wheelchair-user: it could be better! Hopefully : when they are renovating: they will think about a wheelchairfriendly room?? Because this could be better! And a hotel of this quality must consider this please....... still, we had really a good time, in this lovely place, although the Victoria in Siem reap still better (considering wheelchair access!)

Another 2 night stay while touring Vietnam again. Rooms are not up to the standard of the big cities in Vietnam but still well equipped. The shower is impossible due to the odd nature of the shower head placement so you better like baths. Staff friendly. Seafood buffet marginal. Weekend evening dance troupe rather amateur, but refreshing. Seaside private ambiance gorgeous. Traditional Vietnamese style. Standard rooms upstairs with sea view was fine.

Room Tip: Ask for sea view room, although the road view is still rathe pleasant.
