“Flavours of Vietnam”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2013

My girlfriend and I found out about this cooking class at Kimmy's (tailor). The price was reasonable and the description of the course promised a more personal approach, so we immediately grabed the opportunitiy.
After taking the tour of the market, where we discovered some new and exciting vegetables and fruits, we headed to the famous Bell well which provides the key ingredient (water) of Cao lao noodles in Hoi An and then to Tropics garden restaurant.
We were welcomed by owner-chef Hung, who was very nice and informative. The cooking class was an excellent experinece. We cooked 4 dishes and along the way chef Hung thought us some useful tricks and recepie adaptations for back home, where all the ingredients are not availible. A great way to spend an afternoon in Hoi An.

“Hoi An Master Chef”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2013

Recommend this great experience - The Chef teaches you tricks of Vietnamese cooking while you prepare your own 4 course dinner. Its a fun, entertaining night and you come away with a cook book and tips to use at home. The place is a little out of the way - would not know if you were not told - and is very clean, the food is fresh and the staff are great. There were 4 of us and we all took part and enjoyed.

“Excellent cookery course”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2013

We were recommended this place when we went to Kimmys tailors, and the cookery course was excellent.

Unlike many of the other places, who only do spring rolls, we were taught to make 4 dishes, spring rolls were one, then a fish wrapped in banana leaf course, a delicious chicken salad and vietnamese ommelette.

Our chef was really nice and friendly, and it was a really small group, so loads of attention.

“Wonderful cooking lesson and great food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 14, 2013

Our guide picked us up at our hotel and took us for a walking tour of the central market in Hoi An, pointing out many fresh food items in their raw form. We then walked to the Bale Well to see from where the water for making Cau Lac is drawn, and then on to the Tropics Garden restaurant for our cooking class and eating extravaganza.
The class was fun and had the right level of challenge to it - and then we got to eat what we'd made - spring rolls, fish cooked in banana leaf, rice pancakes...all delicious and we got the recipes to take home. An experience not to be missed!
