If you spend a week in Hoi An, and eat in different a place every meal, you will probably develop an ability to differentiate good meals, from OK meals, and bad meals.
The service is good, in fact very good, and the interior of the place is also very good if you keep in mind that the price is almost the same as some of the crappy cheap places.
However, the tastes of the foods are not delicate, and you will not be able to remember the tastes nor the scent of their food the very next day. You will probably only remember the nice girl who served you, and how good you felt after few beers in a pleasant environment.
My wife had 'Seafood in a pot' which was nice, but as usual for the ordinary cooks, used too much spices and 'Miwon' to hide his or her incompetence. For me, after a few days in Hoi An(a wonderful city to eat and enjoy their culture and people), chose grilled food, so I could enjoy the food(it is usually not possible to destroy your evening if you order something grilled or fried in well recommended places).
I may be picky. But 'low price' is not a synonym for 'good food'. And there surely are very good places, with fine cooks who make those cheap materials come alive. I am sorry, it is a good place, but I would rather go to a little cheaper place that serve the same quality food, or go to a little more expensive place that serve much better food, even though the service there sucks(and don't let a waiter ruin your evening in Hoi An - a 10000 dong bill, 50US cents, will do the magic for you).
