We were booked into this as part of a private tour. The hotel looks great - see the various pictures, and the rooms were well appointed with a really nice balcony. Most staff were friendly. The free shuttle into town was a nice touch: taxis cheap anyhow. Laundry next door to hotel very cheap and quick (I know its not connected with the hotel but take note). Pool clean. And beach excellent.
Internet coverage was poor: I switched from the hotel system to a local simcard and a mobile device.
We went down to the restaurant on Friday evening at 8.45pm so a touch late but there were still others in the restaurant. The staff spent most of their time packing the BBQ and other items away around us: I fetched our own menus for main and dessert. The cappucinos were weak coffee that, I suspect, meant they had cleaned the espresso machine already. Would have complained but that would have meant I would have to go into the kitchen to find someone....(as they were packing stuff away etc)
The gym was a small room with just one treadmill. Yet a large resort so insufficient
No games room or any other entertainment (eg a pool table)
Overall the hotel is faceless: rather anaemic
Finally, our travel agent had booked us a late check out. This was not honoured: it could have been our agent's error of course. All we needed was somewhere to shower on our return from a tour as our two rooms were packed and empty. But on return they had they no shower facilities or anything available.
So knowing we disagreed over the check out, knowing they had been unable to help us, we hadnt been able to find one of the worn out plastic room entry cards, and they charged me US$6 for that. A special touch
In summary, this could be a good hotel very easily. But at the moment it lets itself down
