“Excellent hotel, perfect location, super value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2011

This hotel is one of a small chain under the Long Life banner. This particular hotel is very close to the main 'downtown' streets of sleepy Hoi An taking about 4 minutes to stroll in to the center. The hotel itself is a lovely open building with a pool in the middle and three floors of rooms.

Our stay coincided with Tet, the Vietnamese Lunar New Year holiday. Despite this, we were able to reserve a generous River View room on the top floor with only 3 days notice. The room was the largest class in the hotel and featured a bathtub and shower (shower was in the same small annexed area as the toilet - some people find this annoying but provided you take the toilet paper out prior to showering, it's fine. If you shower before going out of the hotel, they will simply clean and dry if for you before you return) as well as a separate sitting room with tea and coffee facilities, large windows, a desk and computer with in room internet access and a television and DVD player in the bedroom. Our bedroom also had a small balcony overlooking the river - not big enough to be very practical though, but fine to take some pictures or have a cigarette if you desire.

The breakfast was a buffet and was fine, not amazing though but had a decent selection of eggs, toast, jam, cereal, fruit, coffee, tea etc. There were small daily variations including pastries and various Vietnamese style breakfast items. We often ate out for breakfast as the local bakeries are amazing.

The service was fine and the hotel arranged a cheap pick up and drop off service to the airport in Danang which is about 30 minutes away. There was no laundry service due to the Tet holiday, however next door to the hotel was a small shop offering laundry which we took our clothes to. The hotel had a small collection of books and magazines which travelers 'exchange' and some DVDs for your room. We found the service to be good and there was always someone on the front desk to answer a question or wish us well as we explored the city. We hired a motorbike from the front desk for a reasonable 10US dollars for half a day.

There is a bar next door to the hotel which is open late and plays loud music, however after closing the doors to the balcony neither myself nor my girlfriend had any trouble sleeping.

For about $60-70 per night (including taxes and charges) it is a great value hotel for a couple or family not doing a budget trip around Vietnam nor wishing to shell out hundreds of dollars for a luxury resort.

In spite of all the good reviews we had a different experience. We have never seen such a bad staff. They were not interested at all. Maybe because they had to work at Tet.
We arrived and our booked room was not availlable. We get the same type, but now at the back side of the hotel. Was a beautifull spacious room 45 sq mtr, but the spacious bed sleeps not very well. When we came back aft a daytour at 16:00 the room was still a mass. After complaining they cleaned the room immediately, but poor.
The shower is combined with the toilet and even with a curtain as seperation all get wet.
The separate bath is nice because it's a whirlpool.
Breakfast has been a disaster. We even got white bread with green spots on it....
The fresh eggs were very good, but that's it.
We will not come back there, in spite of the beautifull room and good situation.

Long Life Riverside is located very close to the old town of Hoi an. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and it was easy walking distance to shops and sightseeing. Great breakfasts, friendly and helpful staff who organised our every wish quickly and effeciently! . This hotel is value for money. Hoi an is a beautiful place with great food, shopping and sights - this hotel complimented the visit wonderfully.

It has all been said before but this is really the very best value for money accommodation in the many trips I have made to Vietnam. At $45 per night this is as
good as any 5 star hotel charging 3 times the price. The hotel is in a great location on the river and only 3 - 4 minutes wlk from the old town. The rooms are unbelievable. Huge king size bed on higher level including TV and DVD Player, very large lounge room with terrace. Also in the lounge area is a writing desk and computer desk with free in house computer supplied. The large bathroom has full size bathtub standing in the middle of the room with an adjacent shower and toilet room. Fresh fruit supplied daily. Breakfast is very good with plenty available. The staff are incredibly genuine and friendly and go out of their way to help. Alli in all a fabulous hotel that presently rates for me as number 1 in Vietnam. Can't wait to stay there again.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 days over Christmas. There isn't enough good things to say about the hotel and in particular the front desk staff. Our room was beautiful, comfortable and very clean. Breakfast was good with an abundent variety including fresh fruit. The location near the old town was ideal and covenient. The Hotel threw a Christmas Party for all guests (included free food, drinks and party hats) and a good time was had by all. Hopefully we will be back to Hoi An one day and this is the place we will stay.

We had the pleasure of spending 9 nights in this hotel and couldn't have been looked after any better had we been in 5 star hotel. The rooms are fabulous, very spacious with a bedroom area and a sitting area including it's own computer with hi-speed internet at your disposal 24/7, and the bathroom was a real surprise and once again very well appointed. All the staff are extremely friendly and helpful, especially the reception staff who always have a big smile and just love a good laugh. Breakfast has an option for everybody and the buffet is refilled as soon as it looks like the plate is nearly empty.
