This hotel is one of a small chain under the Long Life banner. This particular hotel is very close to the main 'downtown' streets of sleepy Hoi An taking about 4 minutes to stroll in to the center. The hotel itself is a lovely open building with a pool in the middle and three floors of rooms.
Our stay coincided with Tet, the Vietnamese Lunar New Year holiday. Despite this, we were able to reserve a generous River View room on the top floor with only 3 days notice. The room was the largest class in the hotel and featured a bathtub and shower (shower was in the same small annexed area as the toilet - some people find this annoying but provided you take the toilet paper out prior to showering, it's fine. If you shower before going out of the hotel, they will simply clean and dry if for you before you return) as well as a separate sitting room with tea and coffee facilities, large windows, a desk and computer with in room internet access and a television and DVD player in the bedroom. Our bedroom also had a small balcony overlooking the river - not big enough to be very practical though, but fine to take some pictures or have a cigarette if you desire.
The breakfast was a buffet and was fine, not amazing though but had a decent selection of eggs, toast, jam, cereal, fruit, coffee, tea etc. There were small daily variations including pastries and various Vietnamese style breakfast items. We often ate out for breakfast as the local bakeries are amazing.
The service was fine and the hotel arranged a cheap pick up and drop off service to the airport in Danang which is about 30 minutes away. There was no laundry service due to the Tet holiday, however next door to the hotel was a small shop offering laundry which we took our clothes to. The hotel had a small collection of books and magazines which travelers 'exchange' and some DVDs for your room. We found the service to be good and there was always someone on the front desk to answer a question or wish us well as we explored the city. We hired a motorbike from the front desk for a reasonable 10US dollars for half a day.
There is a bar next door to the hotel which is open late and plays loud music, however after closing the doors to the balcony neither myself nor my girlfriend had any trouble sleeping.
For about $60-70 per night (including taxes and charges) it is a great value hotel for a couple or family not doing a budget trip around Vietnam nor wishing to shell out hundreds of dollars for a luxury resort.
