“Just Fantastic!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2014

The cooking school is new (about 1 year old) and has been really well designed to maximize the your understanding of Vietnamese cuisine. The day starts with breakfast in the cooking school restaurant, then the 25 or so people are split into smaller groups of five or six for the market tour. At the market your shown everything; fish, noodles, meat, herbs, fruit, vegetables and spices. Our guide, Thu, was excellent and gave us some good tips on what to look for when buying some of the key ingredients. When we got back to the cooking school, still in small groups, we were toured around the cooking school restaurant were we tasted lots of things (silkworm salad to steamed coconut pudding) told the importance of some of the dishes to local culture, and saw how everything was prepared. Then on to the actual cooking. Lulu was our cooking instructor and she was excellent. We cooked, and ate, four delicious dishes. At the end we were given the recipes and a slicer (kinda like a hand held mandolin). I cannot recommend this cooking class highly enough!

“Best food and best value!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2014

Did the morning class including the market tour. The breakfast buffet included was to die for!! So many amazing Vietnamese treats to sample, and all such good quality. The class was fun, lots of hands on and some demonstrations. The staff are so helpful, and make it so easy. Even iced towels to keep you cool! A must, if not for the cooking class, at least for the breakfast or lunch.

“Amazing experience! Highly Recommend!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2014

I have absolutely nothing bad to say about the Morning Glory/The Market Vietnamese cooking school! We had the two most delightful hosts - Cherry was our guide at the beginning of the day and she took us around to see the market on a boat trip and to explain to us everything that we would be eating and preparing. We also started the day off with the most ridiculously lavish breakfast that consisted of as many different things that you could imagine. Including choices of fresh delicious juices and amazing Vietnamese coffee! The whole day was so well prepared, so well thought through and so clean and professional; you really felt like you about to learn how to be a pro chef!

The cooking part was of course the most exciting! Our teacher Mrs Hung was AMAZING! She was so funny and personable and such a great cook and really made you feel like what you were doing was easy and possible! We made four dishes - a soup with shrimp mousse, a traditional beef and shrimp pancake, some sautéed chicken BBQ and a mango salad. The whole day completely exceeded my expectations and was worth much more than the 32$ US that they are charging! We also got ice cream for dessert and a mango slicer as a gift (as well as all the recipes and a break down of the sauces that were already prepared for us).

It was truly a highlight of the trip to Hoi An - which says a lot as there are so many amazing things to do there! Highly recommend!!!

“Great night out”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2014 via mobile

Went to this restaurant from recommendation from Trip Advisor and was certainly not disappointed. Excellent food, great service and ambience. Booking is definitely required and as with most Vietamese restuarants food is served early rather than late in the evening.
Great value for money.........very reasonable

“Very professional”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2014

Did a cooking class with an Intrepid food tour of Vietnam. Very impressed with this organization. I loved being shown how noodles and rice paper are made. And the array of foods to try is great. The class was excellent... Got to make a number of things that will be easy enough to replicate at home. I highly recommend doing a class here!
