“Excellent value local food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2010

The restaurant is everything that previous reviewers have said and we had one of our best meals in Vietnam there for very little money. The fresh beer at 4,000 dong a glass is particularly good. We also went to the cooking class, which was more of a demonstration than actual cooking unfortunately, but for $5 each plus the cost of the food, it was well worth it.

“Where everyone knows your name:)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2010

We felt like family the moment we walked in! It would be very sad if you visit Hoi An and miss this amazing Cafe! We've been traveling for over 8 months and this is by far the best food we've had in Vietnam. We highly recommend the stuffed squid, fresh spring rolls with shrimp, chicken chili & lemongrass, wontons & white rose (a house staple).

We ate here 7 times in 4 days...the food is mouthwatering and the beer is COLD! I hope you enjoy as much as we did...actually I know you will:)

“cheapest, freshest, tastiest food in vietnam, and they do cooking classes”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2010

Had found cafe 43 whilst researching cooking classes, so decided to have dinner before booking the class. We had 4 dishes, including the now famous stuffed squid, shared a plate of white rose and 12 large bias, total $12.00 We booked the cooking class $5.00 pp & price of ingredients approx $3.00pp The owners daughter did the class and she is a delight.
We learnt how to cook what we had eaten for dinner, Squid, lemongrass chicken, shrimp pancake. Do yourself a favour go for a meal, you wan't be disappointed.

“Believe Lonely Planet this time!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2010

Lonely Planet reviews this as an excellent cafe and this time they are right! the owners are friendly and they have local draught beer on tap ( very cheap) The food is really nice and they also do cooking classes My favourite is the lemon pancakes, the fresh spring rolls, stuffed squid and wonton soup. One of the best in Hoi An

“Best Squid around”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2010

Yes, we eventually found this Cafe, having read all the reviews plus other guests at our Hotel were raving about it......very cheap and the Stuffed Squid was to die for.....absolutely stunning....the other dishes we had (white rose, beef with lemongrass) was 'just'...beer was only 20c a glass...u can't beat that..

would go back just for the Squid....give it a go, ..

ps: watch the mossies, they were out in force the nite we went...
