We went to Brothers on our first night in Hoi An as it was close to our hotel ( Life Heritage Resort...also very good) and most importantly the restaurant was featured on Luke Nguyen's TV show on cooking in Vietnam ( a well known aussie/vietnamese chef who runs Red Lantern in Sydney).
The setting (buidings and gardens) were even more atmospheric than on TV and we had a lovely, authentic dinner.
One thing that puzzled us was while it is a large and good restaurant in a great location, we virtually had the place to ourselves. Maybe because it is down a relatively quiet street ( by Hoi An standards) and on the other side of the market from the japanese bridge and most of the old town, who knows...or maybe just a quiet night??
Apart from the beautiful old french colonial building and landscaped gardens it is right on the river so if you sit outside you can see the river and catch a breeze while eating authentic local food. Service was also good, attentive but unobtrusive...how I like it. Well recommended.
