“Tired Malika”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2012

Conveniently located, but in need of an upgrade. The bath drain leaked onto the bathroom floor, no anti-slip bathroom mat provided, loose toliet lid and spongy mattresses meant a disappointing end (accommodation-wise) to our break.

This hotel is located right in the middle of the best of Samarkand attractions. The staff is english speaking, they are nice and helpful. The breakfast is a good buffet. The rooms are big and comfortable. the bathroom is also spacious and clean.
The downsides are that it lacks a little bit of uniqueness, it feels a bit like any other nice hotel. And the internet is payed. It is cheap, just 3000 soms an hour.

Room Tip: Don't take number 7. It has a view to the next house old roof.

I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. It is in a great location - a few minutes walk to Gur-i-Mir and ten minutes walk to the Registan.

The staff are friendly and the food is good.

Sitting on the roof top terrace at the end of the day with a cold beer watching the setting sunlight on the Gur-i-Mir dome is a spiritual experience.

Quietly located near the Gur Amir and a 20 minute stroll to the Registan, this is a comfortable small modern hotel. Front facing rooms on the first floor have a balcony. Double rooms seem to be larger than twin-bedded. Bathrooms are small and musty. Shower/Bath leaked quite badly. Service is efficient and very friendly. Breakfast is adequate.

Room Tip: Doubles seemed to be more spacious than twins. No. 14 has a nice balcony.

I think this hotel's location is it's best attribute. We had a room on the second floor overlooking the quiet street. Loved waking up there.. The hotel is really close to Gur Amir (probably about 5 minute walk?) and about 20 minute walk to Registan Square. Only problem is that the breakfast is very limited (there were too many servers for such a small restaurant). Wifi is not free (and ony works at the lobby area) so that was kind of a drag. We bought our beers instead in the store next door.

It is nice and clean hotel although it is not very close to the active area .. you need to walk about 30 minutes to reach Rajistan Park and other places .. but I like the hotel .. my room was at the second floor .. but nobody helped me to take my bag up ..i took it all the way up .. very clean hotel .. breakfast is good but not very rich .. I loved the terrace where you can set and relax after a long day walk .. and you can smoke too  this is a non smoking hotel … reception man was ok … but not very ok .. you feel he is smiling as it is part of his duty .. you know what I mean  .,.but all together the hotel is very good .. and if I go back to Samarkand I will stay there again …
