“Nice place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2012

Arriving on foot by ferry from Buenos Aires, the location is very convenient at hardly 2 blocks away. The historic centre is a couple of blocks to the west, just a leisurely stroll along a leafy avenue. The rooms are clean and simple. Some have a semi-kitchen (ie, a sink but no cooking plates). Reception is very welcoming and staff is really helpful. Breakfast is good and plentiful.

Room Tip: There is one suit with private terrace if this might be of interest.

Spent one night on December 6th. Short walk from the ferry, bus station and to the old town.

This charming Posada is family owned and we certainly enjoyed the conversations we had with a son, Luciano. The back garden area is pleasant for relaxing too.

I think the place was restored last year....so everything is clean, neat and in great condition. The room could have been a bit larger....the bathroom was divine...the BATH TOWELS the best we had in Uruguay.

Breakfast was simple and also filling.

A great choice.

We only managed to spend one night in Colonia, however could have quite easily spent much longer, had we not has a ferry to catch. The B&B/boutique hotel is very clean and cosy with really comfortable rooms. The welcome was superb, with staff going out of their way to make your stay as comfortable as possible, including giving tips on where to eat, visit and see. It's location, a cuple of blocks from the Ferry/Bus terminal is also hard to beat, and is at the beginning of the walk into e old part of the city. Would highly recommend this little gem to anyone traveling to Colonia.

Room Tip: The separate cottage room out the back and up the stairs is great, if you want to be away from the r...

Small but lovely place located close to the city centre. The rooms were tidy and clean, and the service was really good. We arrived late and the staff pointed us to a nearby restaurant, and even took the time to call ahead to ensure that it was still open. When we found that the shower was not working properly, and told them, they fixed it immediately.

The only down side that we found was that some of the rooms are very close to the reception and restaurant, and therefore a little noisy early in the morning, but nothing serious.
